Company of Heroes

Just starting Company of Heroes with a friend, we both bought the gold edition.  Despite the fact that it feels completely different then most other RTS games in gameplay and general style, we seemed to have picked it up quickly.  Anyone play this game and have any good tips?  Was this a good investment?

CoH is to me, the new top tier RTS, for what a standard RTS has evolved into. I really can't go back to how older games did it now, it just feels archaic. One of the best RTS I've played ever, very good buy.

Company of Heroes is ballin'...

...until they did the online account setup thingie like 2142 did.

Dawn of War II will likely do the same thing...but it will be awesome (times) infinity (plus) 1.

yea, can't say I'm a huge fan of making an account for any game specifically, but I deal with it. Can't wait for DoW2 either, gonna be so fucking rad.

I'm hoping that the CoH account I've created will be compatible with DoW2.

I'm too afraid to play CoH online, I know I'll just get my ass handed to me and 2bh my PC doesn't exactly run CoH smoothly

CoH and Opposing Fronts are very good games yes. I got so tired of the ordinary RTS genre that i haven't really played much of those kind of games since Warcraft 3. Most of them are just clones of Dune 2 anyway. Not much has changed in that genre in so many years but CoH really bring some strategy into RTS games.

When it comes to the account thing the good thing about it is you don't need to put in your DVD every time you want to play.

CoH was so awesome, I played it when it was first out non stop, very enjoyable. Sadly it was too long ago for me to remember any strategies :P

Best RTS i've ever played.

Besides Dune 2.

Second favourite RTS, but then again im a bit of a 40k fan so DoW1 takes the cake for me. The lack of scale in DoW2 dissappoints me endlessy.

CoH is amazing.  For anyone who is also interested in Dawn of War II, theres a beta being hosted on Steam next week for people who own Soulstorm.  Then its available at the end of Jan for everyone (up to a limit i think)
