Well, I finally said I'm going to build my first PC after see my old computer memory was depleting and barely couldn't run anything. My budget ranges around $300-800,If I can I want use my old slim tower and put in a new motherboard. Anything I should know before starting?
Computer
A computer is a common object in video games. They can be used for many purposes; to trigger objects - such as a lift or a bomb, gather information, or even to play games.
So I'm building a PC for the first time.

Oh, and here's this:
I went with a GTX 460 in an attempt to cut down on costs; if you've got some extra dough, bump that up to a GTX 560 TI or a GTX 580. Or 670. But a GTX 460 will run most things pretty well on pretty good settings, I believe Ryan once mentioned running Battlefield 3 on High with a GTX 460.

I went with a GTX 460 in an attempt to cut down on costs; you can do better than that if you're willing.
I agree with this. Though I might bump up the video card if you can afford it.

@believer258: Thanks man, This is great information
You're welcome.
I want to save up and build one myself, and what I get will probably end up being something like that, so I went ahead and got a ballpark estimate earlier today. I saw you needed the exact same thing and just copied it here.
I recommend using PCPartPicker.com when looking for the cheapest place to buy each part. The vast majority of the time you will find that either Amazon or Newegg is the cheapest buy, but other retailers sometimes undercut these two (for example, I got my i5-2500k CPU from Microcenter for only $180).
Also, I'd recommend getting all your parts at once. The initial bite in the wallet might hurt, but then you don't have to worry about RMA issues. It would suck not being able to return your motherboard because you got your PSU a couple months later which allowed you to find out that it was DOA after the return time period.

@Barrock: I'm doing the same, once I have all the parts I'm going to start doing it.
That's a bad idea. Sure you may save some money, but really, you'll just be waiting longer and longer 'til it gets 'cheaper'. Just buy it now and don't look at the price of components after for a few months. Ha.
Also that PC up top is pretty decent, but there is no point buying a 460; thing is 3 generations old now, sure it's cheap, but it won't last you too long.

@Andorski: I was looking for a website that help me a little more, thanks!
I strongly suggest playing around with the PC builder on this website: http://www.alternate.com/ I automaticly filters out components that won't be compatible due to
I just ordered my own 1200 euro (1500 USD) PC myself yesterday. Today i received all parts except the power supply so now there is a mountain of temptation in the middle of my living room (I'm not some crazed PC enthusiast, it was my first upgrade in 5 years)
For a PC case i can heavily recommend the: Fractal Design Define R4suprisingly enough it turned out to be the same jeff got (watched the video justnow) it is very roomy and has a ton of little touches that show they really put some thought into this product.
If i were to cherry pick the parts for a Budget PC i would be getting the following parts: I will list some recommended high performance parts afterwards. So you can compare by yourself if you want to make the extra investment without being burdened with 100's of options:
low-mid range PC | ||
