I thought the first costume quest was alright. Cool art and theme and just really creative overall, but the core game-play loop just starts to drag, which is a bummer since it's only 3-4 hour game, if you take your time. And the combat felt close to having enough depth to be more engaging, but leaned to much toward a "my first RPG" with button mashing and QTEs, whereas a Legend of Dragoon type battle system would have been so great to see.

Supposedly they are revamping to have more of a Mario and Luigi RPG feel to the combat (that's awkward phrasing) but do you all think that will be enough?

I found the combat and overall structure of the original too simplistic to maintain interest. I'll wait for reviews and word of mouth, but I'm likely to skip this one.

The first one... Man I liked it a lot, but it just got to be too boring to finish. Fortunately, my soon-to-be wife loved the first one. So, you're not the only one who pre-ordered it! the moment it was available we pre-ordered. For me personally? I'm interested to at least see what the hell is going on with the new one and see if they fixed some of its repetitiveness

I'm gonna play through the whole thing on Halloween in honor of Ryan as he did that with the first and I never got a chance. I loved the first one and even played through the DLC. I hope it's a little bit deeper as I don't think I can go through that gameplay again.

Holy shit this comes out on the 7th? I had no idea. I'm super excited but will probably wait until it comes to PS4. That can't be too far off, right? I don't see them missing a Halloween release.

Not really, but Ill keep an open mind. To me Costume Quest was an idea that didn't require further expansion.

I never minded that the game was "easy." I don't need every RPG to involve 10 hours of grinding between bosses or an uphill tactical battle, the first game charmed the ever-living HELL out of me. The character designs, the idea of the characters becoming badass versions of their costumes, the buildable costumes, and just the whole whimsical concept 100% won me over.

I played the expansion, it left off on a cliffhanger, I cannot WAIT to play this.

i played the first one early this year with my daughter, so yes is a perfect game to play with her
