    Crackdown - Get this Game

Crackdown is a great game just to run around in. Which may look bad but that was really what I wanted out of it.

If you've heard Giant Bomb talk about the game they don't seem to speak well about it which is kind of sad for me considering how much fun I had with this game.

In Crackdown you are a genetically engineered cop who needs to destroy the organized crime that has become a part of every day life in this futuristic capital city of the world. There are three islands that each seem to be modeled completely different. One island based on a small lower income urban city while another island a more industrial urban city while the last island is high income sky scrapers.

In this city you use guns, cars, metal pipes and your feet to destroy the crime in the city. With each gangsters death you are given skill orbs which increase the power in which you drive, punch, shoot, jump or destroy. Which leaves you with the ability to have complete control as to how you will deal with the gang leaders that you must search for and destroy.

For example I went to attack a gang leader who is holed up in the bottom of a night club which you can get into in many ways. You can drive a car behind the nightclub, run and jump from the main entrance, blow up a series a of explosives placed around the building, or go in from a hidden passage under the building.

The graphics look great with the cell shaded style and makes the game feel amazing. Everything is bright and colorful and stands out in this world with character. Now some may say this is a bad thing but with how the buildings stand out and look completely different from the characters and the cars and the road makes it look great.

The online play is easy to get to and seems interesting enough, I just don't know anyone I'm willing to play with online. The majority of the online play is easily accessed as you can instantly join someone in the middle of a game and help them destroy crime. Although they added a nice feature for online play. Crackdown has an expansion that adds vehicles, guns, and missions and if one of the two online players has purchased this expansion both can experiance the added features.

This game is near perfect and is completely worth the money I paid for it. I truely suggest you buy this game and cannot wait for the next game from Realtime Worlds.

An Impressive Debut From Realtime Worlds 0

Crackdown is one of the very few free-roaming games that takes the sandbox formula and almost re-invents it entirely, fusing multiple types of gameplay together to form a game of one of its kind. Simply put, Crackdown is one of most fun experiences a sandbox game has had to offer in recent history. The one thing that might come surprising about Crackdown is how fast it drops you straight into the game, you have your basic main menu that of course lets you decide what you want to do, but the mai...

      Crackdown Review 0

Crackdown was released in a time where all open-world genre games were all very similar. It seemed like all of the games were trying to cash in on what the Grand Theft Auto series had created. Luckily for us Crackdown brought something different to the table. Like all other open-world games Crackdown allows the player to explore a city and do whatever they like. But what Crackdown does different is it allows you to develop your characters skills to super-human proportions. Crackdown allows the p...
