Is it Possible to Be Nitros Oxide?

I read on another website that if you beat all of Oxide's ghosts on time trial he would be unlocked, but after doing so, no such thing happened, so was this other site false or just the way to open him described incorrectly? Or hell, did I just fail to beat all the Oxide's and not know it?

Has anyone else unlocked him?

As far as I remember, you unlock N. Trophy by beating all of N. Trophy's times, and all you get is a scrapbook thingy when you beat N. Oxides times. I don't know if it's possible to unlock N. Oxide, but if it is, that's not how you do it.

I'm amazed you beat all N. Oxide's times, they looked completely impossible to me. That's how I thought you unlocked him, so I've no idea.

From what I can remember, Oxide was put in the game's code but he was made impossible to unlock as a playable character before the game's release. As far as I know, the only way to play as Oxide is through use of something like an Action Replay disc to "unlock" him.
