Developed by Nintendo Software Technology Corporation (who assisted in development of the first title), the game is largely identical to its predecessor, albeit featuring brand new puzzles and a sligtly redesigned user interface to accommodate the player holding a 3DS is a traditional fashion. (Crosswords DS required players to hold the DS in portrait mode, as if the console was a book.) Additionally, the game adds a new mode and new content to take advantage of the 3DS' StreetPass and SpotPass features.
