Formed in 1989 as Cryo (but not officially becoming a company until 1992), Cryo's catalog primarily consisted of adventure style games, often using FMV or pre-rendered static graphics. They were in their commercial prime in the mid to late 90's, with commercial and critical successes like Atlantis and MegaRace. Around 1999-2000 critics started growing weary with their formula, and the studio declared bankruptcy shortly after Frank Herbert's Dune, released in december 2001, became a massive financial and critical flop.
