CyberStrike was the first graphical game to run on the GEnie (General Electric Network for Information Exchange) service, and supported matches with 16 players, where four teams consisting of four players each fought each other. Player stats, such as their level, number of kills and death were stored in the player's "Pod", which was stored online.
In 1996 CyberStrike Classic was released, using America Online instead of GEnie, and in 1998 the sequel CyberStrike 2 was released, instead using the Internet.
