Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe

Overview

Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe (known in Japan as Dedede Daiou no Dedede de Den Z) is a rhythm-platformer game developed by HAL Laboratory and published digitally by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS on July 23, 2014 in Japan, on August 29, 2014 in North America, and on February 13, 2015 in Europe.

A spin-off of the Kirby series (and released alongside the similar title Kirby Fighters Deluxe), Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe is a revamped standalone version of the "Dedede's Drum Dash" mini-game from Kirby: Triple Deluxe (released months earlier). It includes arrangements of seven themes from the Kirby series (none of which are from the original mini-game).

Similar to the original, players control King Dedede himself as he bounces on a series of drums in time with the music, avoiding obstacles while collecting musical coins. Along with being able to move left and right (like a platformer), players can control how high he jumps (with three jump levels: normal, high, and super) and perform a hand clap between beats for bonus points.

Cosmetics can be unlocked for those with save data from Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

Stages

The game includes 14 total stages, half of which are more difficult reprisals of the earlier levels. Each stage name is based on the official track name, and none return from the original Dedede's Drum Dash.

1. Floral Fields (Kirby: Triple Deluxe) - Known in Japan as Fuyuu Tairiku no Hanabatake, or "Flower Garden of the Floating Continent".
2. Must Dash (Kirby: Triple Deluxe) - Known in Japan as Hazundedenden ♪.
3. Reflected Laughter (Kirby: Triple Deluxe) - Known in Japan as Oku no Kagami de Warau Kage, or "Laughing Shadows in the Back of the Mirror".
4. Bouncing Boss Battle (Kirby: Triple Deluxe) - Known in Japan as Tobidase! Oku e Temae e Boss Battle, or "Jump Out! To the Back and to the Side Boss Battle".
5. City (Kirby Air Ride) - Known in Japan as City Trial: Machi, or "City Trial: City".
6. Boarding the Halberd (Kirby Super Star) - Known in Japan as Senkan Halberd: Kanpan, or "Battleship Halberd: Deck".

Once players complete the six main levels, a new bonus level is unlocked:

• C-R-O-W-N-E-D (Kirby's Return to Dream Land) - Known in Japan as CROWNED.

In addition, players unlock six "secret" stages, all of which are harder versions of the original six. Completing all six, along with the bonus one, unlocks a final stage: C-R-O-W-N-E-D (Reprisal), or CROWNED:Ver.2 in Japan, which is the only secret stage with a unique soundtrack.
