Yes indeed, it was so hard trying to resist buying a ps3 just to play this amazing game.
(Note: I have nothing against ps3 I just don't want 2 consoles)

It was hard, if you tried playing it like a regular action RPG, as long as you take your time and don't go ramboing all around then yes, it isn't that hard at all.

But it also depends on what you went for, if you went for magic then yes, it's basically the very easy mode of the game, I went for pure melee, didn't called for a single blue phantom, so yeah, it was pretty challenging.

Apparently everyone who preorders Dark Souls will be upgraded to the Collector's Edition for free. One of the goodies that comes with it is a strategy guide. If it's like the one I received with my Demon's Souls CE, it'll cover the entire game. source

That said, Demon's Souls price fell through the floor not long after launch. Amazon is selling it new for $20 and $12 used. If you can wait (I don't think I can), you can save yourself $30-$40.

I didn't have a problem with Demon's Souls difficulty.
It was just boring as fuck.
And had a poorly balanced leveling system.

I heard once on TV that the "chuckle" is the part of the pig between the tail and the anus. True story.
