So, Dark Souls...oh hum. Nothing is more frustrating than having to look into a guide for help less than 10 minutes into the game.

My questions:

How the hell do i use fireballs (Playing as a pyromancer)

How am i expected to kills this boss thing with my broken sword, which at first i thought was nothing more than a dagger.

All i did was laugh the whole time, insanity continues to creep through.....and then i see the door.

How long before you reached for the wiki, forums, walk throughs for help?

You're not supposed to fight that boss with a broken sword. When you first encounter him, run away from the fight, there's a door on the left side of the room. Then you find a sword and a shield, though the shield might be a little bit hidden. Later in that level you go back to the fight but at least then you have a better weapon and a shield.

To use fire spells you need to have a Pyromancers Flame equipped, then you use R1 to use the currently selected fire spell. Mind you that you can't cast soul magic with it.

Think the first thing I checked was where to use the key after beating the gargoyles. Just not that interested in running around the entire world trying to find the correct door.

Blighttown, I'd completely missed the toxic-proof shield.

if friends don't count, capra demon.  i needed to see a video of how someone was doing it.  "ohhhhhhhh that's how."

I have only used a guide to figure out all the weapon upgrades/how the system works and how to find the covenants because i knew those two things were important parts to the game that I would never figure out myself.

Started looking at the weapon upgrades and covenants after the gargoyles if that counts.

I never looked at a boss strategy or video, but I researched the upgrade system and the covenants.

Gargoyles, basically to find out how to summon dudes

@xxizzypop: Yeah, but you still have to block with it for it to work. I'm hoping Blighttown is the only place it comes in handy.
