    Hey yall

Although From did Chromehounds and other 360 bangers, I have noticed that Japanese ps3 to 360 ports sometimes come out buggy/crashy/frame-rate-droppy. All the stuff I have seen via streams and so forth has been PS3. Anyone played the 360 version or seen it. I could get either but the idea of Dark Souls cheevos pleases me.

    Thank you for your attention.

1: From Software made the ps3 version.

2: Namco-Bandai did the 360 port, From had nothing to do with it.

3: I have heard it has a teensy bit more frame choppiness in a few areas but there is not anything significantly "worse" about it than the PS3 version. It is perfectly enjoyable.

To quote a friend who knows a guy in japan with the 360 version. "Yes the ps3 version is a little better, but this is no Bayonetta."

I don't mean to question your source; the response you gave is helpful and consistent with what North American reviewers are saying on the web, but the 360 version never came out in Japan.

I'm undecided on which to get.

    360

    - I can still get the collector's edition

    - In case my friends do get it, there's the chance of us interacting together in some way

    - I'm probably more comfortable with the 360 controller

    PS3

    - system it was developed for

    - I am unable to obtain the collector's edition, at least as easily

    - bigger community online

@DolphinButter: I said he lived in Japan which I guess I should have left out, but I never said which version he was playing. EU retailers were breaking release date as early as a week ago.

EDIT: For clarity's sake I meant "some" EU Retailers.

These days some people won't buy a game if the achievements are too difficult for them to get. Hell people even buy shit games they hate, just because the achievements may be easy to obtain. Its fucking pathetic. So what he wrote doesn't shock me.

two things that might put you off:

The controls put attack and block, the two main actions, on the bumpers, not the triggers.

Much longer loading (as far as I could tell from videos anyway).

I would get the 360 version if it wasn't for the control issue.

So what i'm hearing is that that the two versions are pretty much identical, after that it just comes down to personal preference. There is apparently something wrong with him wanting to get the 360 version because of achievements even though both versions are good?

Well, maybe it just takes some time getting used to it then. I don't know, I've never played Demon's souls so I should probably just shut up! I'm gonna have to get the 360 version though, so I really hope it turns out alright.

I want to get the 360 version because I prefer the sticks on the 360 (I've hit my thumbs together knocking them off in heated moments in Demon's Souls) but the PS3 has the free online that I will rarely use... I can't decide!

Putting them on the bumpers seems like a really good idea. It's similar to how the PS3 works and it's not a shooter that would benefit from a trigger. I'd rather have attack and block on a button (i.e bumper) instead of a trigger anyway. Though to be fair, I haven't played the game, this is just how I feel.

I got the info from people playing a 360 demo at gamescom or some other recent event, as far as I could find out there was no way to change it, hopefully enough bitching will bring a patch if it's the case, but since I also have a PS3 I'm just going to go for the sure thing instead of waiting.

...And judging from the QL it seems that strong attacks would be made with the triggers, which makes way more sense. I take back my previous statement.

It's probably just a preference but it feels better to use a trigger when playing a shooter. Maybe it's more immerse? No idea, just feels more satisfying. I've got no problem with using a shoulder button on a shooter while playing on a PS3 but given the option I would use the triggers on the 360 (but would never use those things that aren't triggers on the PS3. Those things feel bad for almost everything).

You can't really know if a game is buggy until it releases and the 360 version isn't out yet, but I'm sure you'll be okay.

If you have both consoles, get the PS3 version unless you have some personal reason not to.
If you only have a 360, don't worry so much.  It seems fine.

I just think they're more organized than trophies, for me it mainly comes down to an interface thing and I care more about a point system then a system telling me how many trophies I have.(Achievements can tell you that as well)

Yeah I've been watching a good portion of it and it looks pretty much the same. They ran through the same spot Rorie did in his quicklook and it looked and performed fine. There has been some chugging but nothing game breaking.
