    Dark Souls

Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Sep 22, 2011

A quasi-sequel to From Software's action-RPG Demon's Souls, set in a new universe while retaining most of the basic gameplay and the high level of challenge. It features a less-linear world, a new checkpoint system in the form of bonfires, and the unique Humanity system.

Is the only character from both games...

    ...Snuggly the Crow?

I can't think of any other characters, deities or otherwise, that were in both games.

I think this would seal the deal then... Snuggly Souls confirmed for next gen.

Isn't that the devious motherfucker who drops you down a pit in Tomb of the Giants? I could've kissed him for landing my ass right next to half a dozen skull lanterns. Made that Tomb much, much easier.

They patched the game so that the Necromancers on your way down to the tomb drop them, one of them has a skull lantern on them guaranteed.

I kill him when I see him by the switch, kill all of those necromancers and head on down.

I thought Demon's Souls's crow was called Sparkly.

Oh. I never played Dark Souls pre-patch. I heard the game was pretty busted and waited.

Glad I did, otherwise fuck the Tomb.

    It WAS sparkly!

I guess they must be siblings.

So Patches is the only character between the two games?

When you got to Tomb of Giants you had to use a stack of that Prism item that you can drop to test heights and walk at 1/10th your normal pace.

They also fixed the Fog Ring which made you untargetable outside of melee range. THAT shit was broken.

There was a bug where the scaling of the Crystal Ring Shield was waaaay out of whack, and would hit for 700+ if you had a two-hander in your main hand. You could two or three-shot bosses in NG+, I beat the game for the second time in a few hours.

They fixed quite a few things.
