Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Sep 22, 2011
It's literally only a little over 5 hours away. Thank god for Rage coming out the same day, otherwise no midnight release!
@Azteck: I will never understand that... it really doesn't make any sense. Why can't every game just have a simultaneous release date?
Does it really matter?@Azteck: I will never understand that... it really doesn't make any sense. Why can't every game just have a simultaneous release date?
@Spoonman671: Not to me, since I'm not affected. But I can see someone's point when they're on the other end. There really is absolutely no need to not have a worldwide release date.
Do you see it a different way, or... ?
I just don't see the need to coordinate an effort to make sure a game is released simultaneously across disparate landmasses, each with their own organizations doing the distribution/publishing. For example, Sony Europe having to ensure their deadlines are synchronized with Sony of America, and all the communication that requires, is just additional labor that would be done solely for the sake of sparing certain gamers the loss of energy caused by saying, "oh, darn," when they realize that one of their foreign friends has a game two days before them.@Spoonman671: Not to me, since I'm not affected. @Spoonman671: I didn't realize you felt so strongly about it!
In all honesty though, worldwide release dates are not anything new. From his point of view, I'm sure he just hates the extra three day wait for a game he, like the rest of us, are excited for. It's nothing new for them, and I'd hate having to wait an extra three days, too. :)
I Can't Fucking Wait. I'm curious about how well to trust Amazon pre-orders, so I'm scared, but I'm so fucking hyped I'm okay with waiting a day more. I can wait, but if I come home tomorrow and there's an Amazon package in my mailbox, I'm going to be doing absolutely zero homework tomorrow night (great plan, by the way).

Also what's tiah?
a misspelling of Thai, most likely.
I really don't feel strongly about it. I just think it's important to note that while it's easy to say, "hey, this game should release the same day everywhere," the actual logistics of making that happen aren't as simple as some might believe.@Spoonman671: I didn't realize you felt so strongly about it!

Woo! I'm getting it tomorrow and I won't be able to play it because of midterms, so that's awesome.
I hear you. I will be able to play a little, but I've got one of the busiest weeks I've had in a couple months. SUCKS!!! I'll probably just end up sacrificing sleep a little. 10pm to midnight in Dark Souls every night this week is my goal. Hopefully I can limit it so I don't screw myself at work. :)
Should be coming tomorrow, but I didn't get an email saying that it shipped yet (like I did last week when Ico/Shadow of the Colossus came out) so I'm sorta worried it won't arrive on time.
Edit: Annnnd I just got the notification that it shopped! Awesome.

Ididn't get an email either, amazon says it hasn't shipped yet. There's an amazon warehouse in my city, so I'm less worried, but still worried
FUCK YOU AMAZON
I always wondered why our games release on Tuesday in NA. The way Europe does it, putting them out on Friday, seems like it makes more sense if you want people to get it day 1.@Azteck: I will never understand that... it really doesn't make any sense.
