@laserbolts: There is another way, but you would have to go down to Lost Izalith(Down after Ceaseless Discharge) and keep killing sunlight maggots until you receive the sunlight maggot helm. Other than that though, you're kind of stuck to intelligence building :/

You should've seen Tomb of the Giants before the patch ... you had to go through half of it without a lantern (you first found a lantern down in the pit before the patch).

I did actually, none of the necromancers on my way there dropped a lantern so I had to pick it up at the pit. Also I've been at the tomb before the patch, just with a light spell at the ready.
