One of the few downsides of Giant Bomb choosing not to go to CES 2009 is that we're missing a chance to play a fresh build of Dark Void, a game that looked really excellent when I first saw it at E3 2008. I'm frankly a little surprised that this game still doesn't even have a release date yet, though I'm also very pleased that Capcom is taking its time with this one. On the upside, we've got a fresh batch of screenshots to tide us over until the next time we make a trip down Capcom HQ. Check 'em!

I love that Giant Bomb seems to be the only enthusiast blog / podcast that keeps a torch burning for this game. Ever since the trailer that came out at E3 (or was it GDC) I've been looking forward to this game. If I can't get another Crimson Skies, I'll take this. It looks fricken amazing!
I remain cautiously optimistic about this game. When I saw that 8-minute gameplay video last year I was like:
"Yeah, looks good I guess."
"Hmmm, vertical cover. That's a new one. I'm interested."
"OH MY FUCKING GOD DID THAT GUY JUST USE A JET PACK TO FLY AROUND BUILDINGS AND LAND ON TOP OF A UFO? WHERE DO I SIGN?"
looks a lot like a 3rd person halo stylistically in my opinion, but there is defiantly also some major dead space influence. I'll keep an eye on this one.
What are the game concepts nowadays, becasue I can only seem to think of three that have been shoved in our faces again and again: Future Alien Fight, Medieval Fantasy and Steampunk. Admittedly I would play a Steampunk Shooter, although I think I liked Arcanum too much in the first place.
Yea these images look pretty cool! AWESOME!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing how this game develops.
Ryan is right t, it could use a bit more color, but hey, at least it's not brown!
i don't know about you guys, but i watched a gameplay video of this on On Demand, and it looked like shit. especially since you go around killing....robots. its like a crappy gears of war, with the big nasty aliens replaced with shitty robots that all look the same. and it had some seriously gimmicky and boring looking jet-pack-rock-climbing sequence, that makes no sense.
If I remember correctly, you can "carjack" UFOs in the game. That makes it worth a rental, at the very least. Of course, the real question is how do the flight mechanics feel, especially during mid-air combat. Too many games in the past have made shooting in one direction and flying in another practically require three hands.
Being heavily inspired by The Rocketeer, I do hope to see a Betty Page-like love interest somewhere in the game, as well.
