Frame rate?

#1 Posted by NekuSakuraba (6812 posts) - 2 years, 4 months ago

So I am getting anywhere between 30 - 60 FPS on the PC but I was wondering how the console version's FPS is? Is it necessary to have a solid 60 frames per second or is 30 enough to enjoy it?

Thanks.

I played the 360 version and I had it installed. There were no noticeable framerate problems. I remember when it launched on the 360 there was a problem with either the framerate or screen tearing but they addressed that in a patch and it was fixed.

Zero problems on the 360, great game.

Just finished it on X360 and I loved it. Didn't see any frame rate issues at all and so cannot wait for Darksiders 2...

30fps is generally enough to enjoy a game, as long as that is the minimum framerate rather than average or maximum. Drops below 30 can be a problem.  I also have Darksiders for the PC, and I haven't noticed much stuttering or anything getting in the way of the gameplay. I can't really comment on the console version.

I noticed on the 360 that Darksiders seems to have some framerate issues but it seems to usually be right about 30 fps.

@NekuSakuraba: turn off v-sync. there may be screen tearing, but the framerates will practically double.

The 360 version is definitely running at 30 FPS and I've had no issues with it. However, 30 FPS on a console feels different compared to 30 FPS on a PC since PC games generally aren't locked to 30 FPS and hence the FPS fluctuations end up being much more noticeable compared to a constant 30 FPS on the console.

Like others I'm running it installed on my 360 and am not having any issues, even with a ton of enemies on the screen at once.
