More News Stories today that the whole of last week. Glad to see you back, Looking forward to seeing audio versions of these (saw another comment you made) but if it ends up being a less "free" talk because PR has to get involved and embargoes, feel free to never ever do that.

The concept is that my "interviews" for features are usually pretty technically raw and don't sound that great--made over Skype or a phone call (it's not meant to be a podcast)--but that people might be interested in listening to them, anyway.

Very cool read, a bit surprised to see that the War model didn't change too much from the original test. But also glad to see he turned out the way he did :)

Yeah, I noticed that the little bit missing from the circle of the sword was there from the start.

I can see that being a thing. Cool again that you spend so much time with them. ^^

Since I (kind of) have your attention for a second, would it be rude of me to request a feature? I found some like-minded people in the comments of Alex's reviews that are real interested in what he plays (since his review decisions are... eclectic). Would it be possible to have a "what we've been playing" feature for the GB personalities who don't get to be on the podcast every week, even if it was a little bit appended to Worth Reading? Even if the answer is "Naw, I watched a bunch of Star trek, it was cool" or simply "Moar RockBand (I changed one song on my playlist)" every week, it'd be a blast to hear what Dave, Drew, Alexis, Alex, Interns and potentially Close-Friends-Of-The-Podcast have been playing.

Really good read. I love these sort of insight into game creation, without all the PR bullshit in between.

I have Darksiders II on Steam (bought, but skipped the first one after a few hours), but I really can't cope with the PC controls. 360 controller on the way on the mail as we speak because of this game!

I found the first game incredibly tedious. I really want to finish it but I cant stand all the arenas your forced to do (to remove the curses.

The second is much better so far; as far as tedium goes there has been none. I'm a little surprised there was so much zelda talk, though, and no mention of the God of War omages it took in the first game. I mean there are clear similarities there too, and some players cant even see past it they're so obvious (I don't it was intended to rip off GoW but it has it's similarities as much to that as it did to OoT).

    Anywho, fun read.

I picked up Sleeping Dogs instead of Darksiders 2, because i just re-played Darksiders for the 3rd time to get up to date on the story of the series. Kind of a mistake because i got kind of burnt out on it, and wasn't feeling in the mood for the 2nd game, but give me a month or so and i'll be picking Darksiders 2 up .

Actually, the correct answer is whichever Zelda game you like. It shouldn't matter what others like as long as you enjoy what you've played.

Great interview. I was so disappointed by the ending of the sequel. I finished it last night and didn't really like it, except for the short post-credit scene that might hint at a little something. Otherwise the game was great, but the first one left a bigger impression. I'm sure we'll see a third and I'll be there waiting for it.

That was an excellent interview. Thanks for bringing it home for us Tricky! Darksiders is easily one of my favourite games and I'm glad I beat it before hopping into Darksiders 2. War is badass, and so is Death, just in a different way. I didn't realize there were books in the universe... I'm probably going to have to track them down, because I really love the universe they've created and the twist they've put on the old angels and demons bit.

The worse part about Darksiders 2 is that the story did not continue. I already felt bad about not getting all 4 horsemen in the game, but then Vigil made the story in Darksiders 2 so that I didn't get them all once again.

The game is still a fun to play, but the story is not.

My only complait asider from the obvious consolitis stuff is the wallrunning. It's too automated and Forgotten Sands-like hence shitty. I know you dumbed it down so people won't be stuff at platforming(parcour) seqeunces and never finish your game but those guys never do anyway. You are devs you know the statistics. Below 50% of the people who buy a game finish it.

So, please, in the next game(if there is one) make the parcour stuff more like Prince of Persia Sands of Time Trilogy( WW is your best choice for that stuff).

I was just wishing I saw more of these hindsight interviews, and voila.

I'm rooting for Vigil. If anything tragic should happen to THQ (which would be seriously fucking tragic, as they finally stop sucking and now they go in the red?) I hope WB. picks them up to finish this quadrillogy so they can get to making me MK-based co-op juggler beat 'em ups with mad lootz and a dash of puzzling.

Meanwhiles NRS can put the Four Horsemen in MK... think about it.

If by being surprised by the ending you mean sorely disappointed, then yes, they are correct.

The game was still wicked awesome, the ending was just a big let down.

You meet the big villain guy only 1 time before having to kick his ass in a rather easy bossfight. The bossfight before that was pretty decent tho...

Also great voiceacting by Death. Not on the same level as War, but still better than 9 out of 10 game performances.
