One of Capcom's most popular franchises, Darkstalkers is a 2D fighting series based on fantasy and myth from Capcom's glory days. Darkstalkers introduced several ideas used in later Capcom fighting games.
I'm not entirely familiar with either verse, but Darkstalkers character roster just doesn't do it for me as a whole. Guilty Gear. By the way, have you been gone for a while Godwind?
I also prefer the Vampire Saviour series. I found the Guilty Gear characters to be pretty prototypical looking over-stylized anime characters, but found the Vampire Saviour characters to be more fun because they have characters are based off various monsters in various mythologies (e.g. Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, etc.)..
There was a rumour that spread a while ago from an interview when the GG team said that they were heavily inspired by and loved Darkstalkers. I would definitely love to see that, I can even see some matchups
Morrigan vs I-NO Demitri vs Sol Badguy Donovan vs Ky Kiske Felicia vs Jam Lei-Lei vs Dizzy Anakaris vs Faust Sasquatch vs Potemkin Zabel vs Eddie Bulleta vs Zappa Jedah vs Testament Dee vs Order Sol
However, someone who seriously thinks about it could definitely pull up a much more fitting list
Guilty Gear is probably the better fighting game, and definitely has the best music, but honestly, I can't say I like one more than the other. They're both fantastic.

it's especially tough because Darkstalkers it so much older, I would love to see some sort of an update to the series.
