I agree with this thread.  In so many ways.  There is no equal to Bowie, there are just people influenced by Bowie.

The Man Who Sold the World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Station to Station, Low, Heroes, Lodger, and Scary Monsters are all fantastic albums.  David Bowie is the best and a great jumping off point for finding other great artists like Brain Eno and bunch more.

Speaking of which, I read this article a while ago.

Whether true or not, I thought it was an interesting read.
Then again, I love reading stuff like this. ;)

David Bowie is an absolute genious.

Read an interview with Ricky Gervais, where he had recieved an email from Bowie signed "David Bowie, 57, rock god".

@tooPrime: God it's awful. To be fair, he was like 19 when he recorded that.

@endaround: So fucking 80s. Love that video. Especially love the part where Bowie and Jagger seem to nearly make out.

Not easily or well. I'm a terrible singer despite how much I enjoy it. Much to the chagrine of the friends I play with. They dread October 26th.

Even though I got the release date COMPLETELY wrong, Man Who Sold the World is one of my favorite albums by any artist. Specifically the title track and "Saviour Machine."
