Anyone else going to try this out when it goes free? I'll be trying the PS3 version and I thought it would be fun if we could group up and goof around. Add me and post your PSN and we'll set something up if you are interested. I'll edit this post later if people are interested, I'm in class right now so I shouldn't even be on Giant Bomb! Free to play on November 1st. Anyone else going to try it out?
yeah, i'l check it out.
but with so much else out to play at the moment i feel that i just won't have time to play it.
hear its a MASSIVE client download.
Yeah, I'll be giving it a go.
Star Trek Online is going F2P soon as well, and despite hearing so much negativity about that, there's actually a lot to enjoy (I've been using a free trial). But as others have said, with Skyrim and Zelda (and Torchlight?) coming that month, it's not going to be very high on my must play list.
Does anyone know the download size? I hear it's upwards for 20GB.The beta download was 17GB.

Yup. I would consider it if the next few months weren't so packed with potential greats (on top of my endless backlog).but with so much else out to play at the moment i feel that i just won't have time to play it.

@Axxol Yeah Uncharted 3 is the same day so I'll probably be playing that more but I kind of want to run around and pretend I'm Batman.
Yeah, it'll be something that I play while I wait for my anticipated games to release.
I have been planning on giving it a try since SWTOR is a long way off still. Thou, the 20gig download is a bit of a con if you ask me. I'd hate to end up spending more time on download then playing. I didn't know that the Star Trek mmo was going to be f2p. I really wish they get it out a few weeks before SWTOR so I can give it a go.
Going to be spending all my time from November 1 to November 11 thinking about Skyrim. No time for mediocre MMOs.
Played it when it came out with the free month. Will probably download and play every now and then.

Long way off? Pshaw. You clearly haven't been following the game religiously since it's announcement on October 21st, 2008. Most of the sane world has been following this game for just over 3 years. What's 2 months? :P
It's like 20 gigs right? I have a download cap and got both a new laptop and PS3 in the last week which has led to a lot of downloading. Maybe in three weeks when it resets I will check the game out. Even then I don't know, because I really don't see it as something I'll play for more than an hour.

I'm going to try it out, but all of my video game time will be devoted to Skyrim when it releases.
Same, i'll be on PC though, be fun to group up with some people and experience everything!
Basically this.I'm going to try it out, but all of my video game time will be devoted to Skyrim when it releases.
I'll give it a try just because it's free, but I don't plan on spending much time with it.
I wonder what all the retail stores are going to be doing with left over stock of this game? Will they just be giving them out for free?
Meh I'll pass. I'll ask my friends how they like it because they said they're gonna try it. Other then that on November 2nd I'm going to be too busy with the Gundam SD Capsule Fighter Online Beta until Skyward Sword comes out. (Has no money for Skyrim)
I played it when it had a subscription. I'd say those who haven't tried it will probably like it for a little while. You hit the level cap too fast though, and then you run into people who superficially require certain pieces of gear before they let you go with them on any high level stuff. It's a great game that just needed some extra polish (so it wouldn't constantly freeze) and some more content.
The PC is up now and PSN up soon? http://launch.soe.com/installer/DCUO_setup.exe
Wow at least 14GB!?
I was definitely interested in giving it a try, but if it's that big of a client download then I'll probably end up passing.
Is there a max level for the people too cheap to cough up any money? Because if what's happening to me right now is what I think what's happening then I can imagine the shit about the hit the fan for a bunch of people.
Servers are up. Just queued.
Also, when they did the Megaserver merge, all of my characters got the abbreviation of their server name on the end of them. Sadly, all of my names (I was in beta/launch, so I had a character by "Echo" and "echoes") got sniped because of that. Boo.
Game's still a lot of fun, though.
I will re-open my account for awhile, I left a maxed out toon way back when the game dropped. Felt as I had seen enough and am not at a point in my life that I can spend $13/mo on a game so didn't stick around outside of the free month.
I'll dink around in it from now until Skyrim comes out.
everything I've heard and seen of this game, including the giantbomb coverage, looked goddamn terrible. pass.
