" @zoner: The texture on that lamp is goddamn awful, but your dude looks impressive. Is there like a good/evil alignment thing in the game? "From the quick look it seems you pick your alignment at the beginning and then also pick a main superhero or villain as a mentor.
" @zoner: The texture on that lamp is goddamn awful, but your dude looks impressive. Is there like a good/evil alignment thing in the game? "You pick your mentor, where you start and your alignment are based off that.
Mindblast, my telekenetic speedster
and here's her running on the side of a building, just for a lol :p
and my last, and in this case actually least, since its my least favorite, Crimson Queen
she just looks very generic, not happy with her :/ anyway, that'sall for now. if anyone wants some more pictures, be it to sell you on the game (lol) or just to see more cool shit, let me (or us I guess) know, I'll gladly post more

" Half of he fun seems to be making characters. How does the game play? Better than Champions Online? "It didn't come off amazingly in the quick look, the reticle for the gun spent half it's time being obscured by the hero, but having not played I can't say what the other weapon types are like.

" Half of he fun seems to be making characters. How does the game play? Better than Champions Online? "It's the first mmo I've seen get 'action' right. Basically imagine a 3d Beat Em Up, pretty basic with a couple combos. The powers help freshen it up though
" @Soap said:Fair enough, I thought that might be the case." @Phantom_Crash said:everyone i know, including myself, turns that reticle off. they had no idea what they were doing to be honest "" Half of he fun seems to be making characters. " I'll wait til it goes Freemeium lol. "SWG still isn't freemium so uh..
Have fun with that
I played a great deal of the beta.. got 2 characters past level 20. I found the combat is quite fun but a lot of it is (was) rather unbalanced.. some classes ruthlessly kicked ass, others felt very wimpy. Again this was about 2 months ago and I haven't played the retail version yet. Also a VERY important thing that is very strange about the character creation. you only get a VERY small selection of costume options when creating a character.. You will unlock dozens if not hundreds of other costume options when you are playing by equipping new items or using collectibles.. daily tokens to go to a "vault" will almost always net you a couple of pieces. I was particularly fond of the "BioMech" set of pieces.. with its metallic spines jutting out of my gloves, feet and shoulders in a very menacing manner.
Although if your an ENDGAME player, there are rediculously overdone suits of armor based off all the main heroes and villains you can purchase with crazy amounts of PVP tokens or in game money. I will likely play this game again, but not till i get bored of Cataclysm. Which will probably coincide with a steam sale of this game. Also, acrobatics was the most enjoyable travel power for me.
" @Phantom_Crash said:LOTRO went freemium and their revenue tripled. Be prepared for a lot more MMOs to do the same, Champions Online is going freemium this month. Don't expect it to be the last, either." I'll wait til it goes Freemeium lol. "SWG still isn't freemium so uh.. Have fun with that "
" @zoner said:LOTRO did it after several years of not. Champions does not have a licensing issue to worry about. I imagine when you're working with a company you do not own, certain payment models can not be changed without their consent." @Phantom_Crash said:LOTRO went freemium and their revenue tripled. Turbine does not own the Lord of the Rings and they went freemium. And it doesn't matter if they did it after several years, the fact is that their revenue triple and they're probably wondering why they didn't do it earlier. They would have gotten more revenue earlier on." @xyzygy said:

ill post my the hood inspired dude when its finished patching..... anyone seen any good marvel characters running around?
a dude on neogaf posted a pic of a pretty mighty nemesis he made
" @xyzygy said:I think the reason it took LOTRO so long is simply because the freemium model was only proven to be successful recently after D&DO made the switch. Turbine clearly didn't want to risk losing money and annoying their current subscribers, but the fact it's tripled the profits since the change ensures more games will be switching over to this format. Champions Online is next at the end of the month and will likely do very well for itself too, it was a decently fun game, only let down by the monthly costs and with DC Universe coming out, I think a lot of people will turn to it as a much cheaper alternative. Star Trek Online will be next to go free to play and DC Universe won't be far behind, depending on how well it does to begin with." @zoner said:LOTRO did it after several years of not. I'd also be willing to bet that Old Republic will at least have a non subscriber option.
I will be all over TOR like a fat kid on cake when it comes out. Until then the DC character creator needs to be released as a separate download to get more people like me in to it. Champions Online did a stand-alone character creator too I think, Dragon Age Origins too.
I am some what tempted to have a go at this, pitty there is no trial for it at this point in time.
Please tell me you guys are playing with a 360 controller. I was in the beta and it was hard to watch the guys play with a mouse and keyboard.
" @MikeFightNight said:" Please tell me you guys are playing with a 360 controller. I was in the beta and it was hard to watch the guys play with a mouse and keyboard. "I stopped playing the beta on a PS3 simply because I didn't want to play an MMO with a controller. Is the mouse/keyboard even worse than that? "
You are suppose to play it as an action game and that's the way I played it. You can play it with a mouse and keyboard if you want, but I would never, that's just my opinion.
I always kept the mouse nearby when I wanted to do some quick menu navigation, or the keyboard if I wanted to type something. Mic's work too.
I'd also be willing to bet that Old Republic will at least have a non subscriber option. "Nope it is definately NOT going to have a non-subscriber option. The Old Republic is aiming really high, like WoW high. I dont know if thats good or bad but there is no chance in hell it will have a non subscriber option. Apart from trial i mean.
When even more modest MMO like DCUO start with a must-have subscription, i really dont know how someone would come to that conclusion.
