Here is the first page of the Nintendo Power de Blob: The Underground reveal article.   This first page (i assume there are more) does not reveal all that much except the basic premise that involves de Blob stumbling on a brainwashing scheme when on vacation on a tropical island, that there will be 2 player co-op and that there will be both a Wii version by Blue Tongue, the developer who was behind the original de Blob and a DS version by Halfbrick who have mainly been doing 3D action adventure games up to know .

Here is to hoping that the saving system will be revised, not being able to save mid-level made the pacing of the original really harsh.

    Nice!

Now give me mid-level saves, tight controls, creative level and mission design and more varied music, and maybe I'll be interested in the game.

I feel kinda bad for not buying the first one, hopefully the sequel is good enough for me to redeem myself.
Which reminds me, I really need to buy A Boy and his Blob

More IR control? Sure, I'd love that. Motion Plus, though? No thanks.
