Wii Gameplay
In the Wii version, you control the movement of de Blob primarily with the analog stick on the nunchuck. The game takes advantage of motion-sensitive controls by striking the Wii remote in any direction to jump. The player must also shake the Wii remote when certain enemies attack you. The game features a lock-on mechanic as well. This is used for attacking enemies, collecting paint, and jumping to special platforms that allow the player to jump higher by locking on to other platforms.
In the Wii version, there are ten unique worlds in Chroma City. Each world consists of an extremely large main level and two shorter levels. All the levels are timed. In the main levels, there are dozens of challenges to complete.
There are four main types of challenges. The most important is the landmark challenge type. By completing challenges you get more points, more challenges, and are rewarded with more time.
Various pickups are available in each level. The player can not only pick up extra time and lives, but more ways to revitalize the environment as well. Styles, when picked up, add different designs to what de Blob is painting. Transform Engines, when hit, change a once glum area, into a booming and colorful one.
Finally, a paint tanker makes de Blob invincible for a short period of time.

Mix and match colors to paint the world in this puzzle platformer from THQ.
Overview
de Blob is puzzle platformer where the monochromatic I.N.K.T. Corporation have taken over your city, banning color, music and fun from everyday life. You play as de Blob in a quest to reanimate the city with ground and aerial maneuvers and color-spray gameplay which takes full advantage of the Wii remote and NDS stylus. By solving quests and having fierce bouncing battles the player will help to liberate and revitalize Chroma City.History
de Blob is based on the PC game of the same name, designed by nine students studying Game Design & Development at Utrecht University’s School of the Arts in the Netherlands. (The "de" in the title is nothing more than "the" in Dutch.) When the students started creating the concept, Utrecht was being rebuilt and the principal task for creating the game was to convey how the railroad station area of Utrecht would look in 10 years. The city of Utrecht later adopted the character of de Blob as its mascot. And, now the game is being developed by THQ’s Australia-based studio, Blue Tongue Entertainment.Gameplay
All versions of de Blob feature a protagonist as a blob of paint who must restore color to the environment. As de Blob moves through the expansive levels, he absorbs paint canisters which allows de Blob to splatter paint onto buildings, cars, and more by touching them. Platforming is required to paint difficult to access areas.Wii Gameplay

PC Gameplay
The PC game is a simple experience. It is a freeware game developed by a team of eight students in the Netherlands. This was the first game in the de Blob line . The game is basic in that all you really do is paint a level full of buildings, trees, and cars. There is only one level available to play. The game does feature enemies that turn you into a blob of black ink. In addition, there are seventeen landmarks in which you can paint and restore depending on how much paint you have. There are also fifty coins scattered around the level that the player can collect.Blob Party
Blob Party is de Blob's multiplayer mode. Blob Party allows 2-4 players to play as their own version of the colorful rebel. It has a total of three main games that can be played over various areas. All of the games are a variation on trying to get the most points by painting the most buildings. Games
- Paint Match - Battle the other players to paint as much of the level as possible.
- Blob on the Run - Only one person can paint. As this player paints, the others are following and trying to get the ability for themselves.
- Blob Race - Various buildings are flashing a color. Race the other players to get to them first.
Soundtrack
de Blob included music of a jazz and funk variety. At the beginning of each level, the player could choose a song to play. As the player completed levels more songs were unlocked.
