If you are getting Dead Island, which character are you going to play as for your first play through?  
I am going to go as Xian Mei because I can basically be a ninja with a katana, and knives will most likely be everywhere.

Ill be Sam first. But whats up with the firearm specialist? I thought I heard them say that guns are gonna be pretty rare in that game. It was awhile ago when I think I heard this though.

I'm probably going to play Purna because she has support auras that benefit players you are playing with, and I have friends I'll be playing with.

Will Firearms and ammo be plentiful? I thought I heard that guns and ammo would be scarce, so a Firearms specialists might not be as useful as the others.
That said I would probably  go with Logan.

Then it probably just means that the game would be more challenging when playing as her.

Xian. Already started the massacre.

Second time through (if I decide to do it again), I'm going for Logan.

Sam B or Xian, not sure yet. Maybe when I read their backstories at the character selection screen.

I picked Xian first, but may change to Sam. I didn't get far at all with Xian, and I've found only 1 knife, and like 30 pipes/sticks.
