If so, that's disappointing.
Are the graphics on case zero the same as DR2?
The textures are likely WAY more compressed on Case Zero since the whole game is less than 600 MB. Whereas DR2 is on a disc with over 6GB capacity (10+ times the size) allowing for less compression in the textures and sounds, resulting in higher quality visuals.

Frankly (no oun inteanded) I was pretty impressed with the origional DR's graphics. But's it's been a few eyars and it seams to me that the game looks the same. I had hoped for more imprevements in the visuals being that they've had some time to rework things, esspecially with the textrues.
I just hope it's a matter of it being a downloadable game and teh the real DR2 graphics will be a little sharper.
Also, do we really need a loading scene in between every section and every cut scene? Seriously? Again I hope this is just a limitation of Case 0 being downloadable as it may be a deal breaker if DR2 is that way.
While I'll admit that the DR2:CZ graphics arn't eye bleeding beautiful they are entirely functional and not unpleasant to look at. I will gladly sacrifice graphics for performance so I can spike a queen bottle in the middle of a crowd and watch forty zombies heads explode in unison.
All of it looks like the original Dead Rising, as far as I can tell. I was thoroughly disappointed upon starting up the game. Even if I could look past the terrible zombies (about as scary and threatening as soup), the character models and facial animations are absolutely awful.
The draw distance is fairly decent when you're out and about in the town, though.
I don't know if I buy 7,000 zombies on screen at once. Maybe 7,000 in memory counting areas you can't currently see. But given an HD display of 1024x768. If all you display is zombies with not a single pixel devoted to anything else. You get about an 10x11 block. Which is to say, 7000 is a big number and it would just be a big smear. I know for a fact Case Zero doesn't show anywhere near 7000 at one time. I'd be surprised if it was even 1000 on screen. But that said. I don't mind. If the numbers are that big an area is effectively impassable unless you AoE it. If they show that kind of number it would be a big remove and would just be a "pool" of zombies.
I do hope DR2 has better textrues than CZ. That game could looks smoother, even on my ancient SD set.
And what is the deal with the "new haircut" animation beign the same as the "new hat" one. It looks stupid as Chuck adjusts the "brim" of his new mohawk.
