Little has been confirmed regarding the story, but screenshots released so far show a protagonist that is not Frank West, but motocross champion Chuck Greene who is in Fortune City looking for his lost daughter.
The PP system uses earned PP to level up, unlocking new moves and increasing the main characters maximum health. PP can be earned by killing a certain amount of zombies, completing missions, saving people and killing psychopaths.
Seeming Chuck Green is not a photographer, all photographic gameplay has been deleted from the game, so you cant take pictures.
According to OXM, it will be possible to combine several weapons and make one awesome mega weapon (like a nailgun plus a bat = Baseball Bat w/ Nails sticking out of it).
Some examples revealed were a dirtbike with chainsaws on the handles, acanoe oar with chainsaws at the ends, and a propane tank with spikes sticking out of it.

Taking place four years after the end of Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2 moves its zombie apocalypse into the Las Vegas-like Fortune City.
Viral Video
On February 6, 2009 a video "leaked" showing about a minute of footage of Dead Rising 2. There is a reference to the "Willamette incident", the city featured in the first game, at the beginning of the video and Isabela Keyes is mentioned by name as being the first to discover a possible cure to the zombie infection. In a blurb of text it states "Once every 24 hours" suggesting the drug must be taken that often in order to prevent oneself from becoming a zombie. This may well turn out to be a gameplay or story element. There is also a brief glimpse of the Mega Man outfit from the first game. This video confirms that the setting will be a Las Vegas like city. A brief glimpse of the protagonist (which will probably not be the main character from the first game, Frank West) in a giant, "American Gladiators" style hamster ball rolling through a horde of zombies takes place towards the end of the video. Many have speculated this is likely the beginning of a viral marketing campaign which will likely culminate in an official announcement in the near future.Multiplayer
It has been confirmed that there will be a four player multiplayer and so far four of the modes have been shown.- Ramsterball puts the player in a giant metal ball and is a form of tag. One player is "it" and must run his ball into pillars to gain points, while the other players run their ball into him to try and become "it" to gain points.
- Headache puts the players in a horde of zombies, and they then must rush to the middle of the map and grab blenders. The point of the game is to put up to three blenders on zombie's heads and then rush to the far side of the map and push a button to activate them to gain points. The blenders are color coded so if a player sees an opponents blender they can give the zombie a stick of dynamite and stop them from gaining points.
- Pounds of Flesh has the players wearing a helmet with antlers on them and hitting zombies over a gap to a giant scale. The player with the most weight wins. They can either just hit the zombies over with one hit or charge through the crowd of zombies and hit with a big thrust at the end. If the player needs more zombies the player hits a reload button and a giant anvil crushes the zombies and a new batch appears.
- Slicecycles each player has a motorcycle with chainsaws on both handle bars and a sea of zombies in front of them. The game is simple run through the mob and kill as many zombies as possible.
