I just started the game yesterday and I am not clear on the topic that Brad mentioned in the quicklook. He said you just drop the rest of the magazine everytime you reload. I do not think this is true. I tried to watch my ammo counter while reloading to try to understand. First thing - the ammo packs. How do they work? At first I thought the number in my inventory just means how many "clips" I have left, each reload would consume one. But it looks like there is sone conversion rate for each type of tool? I mostly have anough ammo to progress (playing on hard for the firs time), but I am still not sure wheter I should worry about reloading after one shot, destroing a mine or something.

    Brad was wrong.

You do not discard the remainder of the clip when reloading. There is simply like you said a conversion rate for each type of fire.

Yeah, just reload whenever you feel necessary. Also, don't worry, even on 'Hard' mode supplies are plentiful. Once I put a rocket launcher attachment on my assault rifle I could often just spam rocket fire with plenty of ammo to spare across each battle.

This. Brad was spamming his rocket launcher which eats a chunk of ammo. Each weapon type uses a set amount of your ammo. One shot does not all was equal one bullet/clip/what ever they use.
