Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Sep 28, 2009

Rumors of a HD Dead Space: Extraction port have been swirling since the dinosaurs choked on cosmic dust, but now some can be put to rest. A PS3 version of Dead Space: Extraction with PS Move support will be shipped alongside a PS3-exclusive limited edition bundle of Dead Space 2.

The Visceral Games crew and Sony didn't have much to divulge about the title other than the fact that it would be included on the Dead Space 2 game disc, lending some credence to rumors that pegged Dead Space: Extraction as a downloadable-sized title. Questions as to if the game will ever make its way to PSN or even Xbox Live Marketplace weren't addressed during the briefing.

When publishers start throwing around words like "exclusive," it's best to take said exclusivity with a grain of salt. The Dead Space: Extraction downloadable port rumors were particularly persistent and have earned some cred with this announcement. There seems like there's still a chance we could see Extraction in other places.

    Dead Space 2 ships January 28, 2011.

That game is so much better than anyone thinks it is.
...but dammit, now I have a(nother) reason to buy Move.

That's a pretty sweet bonus. Don't think I'll ever get to use it though unless someone gives me a free move wand.

Cool. Dead Space 2 is already day one for me regardless. I've been wanting to play Extraction and this sweetens the deal. But I guess I'll have to buy a Move. Damn you Sony!!

It sounded like only the "DS2+Extraction combo" was an exclusive. There's no chance they would make Extraction exclusive, this is EA after all.

But having said that, that's an awesome deal and i'll grab it for sure.

" it would be included on the Dead Space 2 game disc, lending some credence to rumors that pegged Dead Space: Extraction as a downloadable-sized title"

Dont forget that the PS3 is blu-ray.  Extraction HD could be a whopping 30 gigs!  It wont, but it could be.

My guess its a PS3 exclusive now only because of the blu-ray's extra breathing room.  Makes me think more that at a later date that It will come out as a DL game.

Extraction won't require Move, will it?  I know it supports the tech, but I'm not sure I'll be investing into it quite yet.  This seems like a pretty good bonus, though.

I doubt that it'll come out on the 360 since it's an on rail shooter that works best with the Wii and Move..

Interesting... could this be why Gabe Newell had to practically apologize to Sony? Valve is an EA partner.

This is a cool game on Wii, nice bonus for DS2.

It also has one of the most gruesomely awesome uses of motion control ever, which I won't spoil for any future Move buyers.

Word. Not just casual critique, he fuckin' verbally curb-stomped the PS3. But what a turnaround! I guess Gabe ate his words when he realized how strict Microsoft is. He wanted to put out the TF2 DLC for free but Microsoft wouldn't have it.

I guess Sony gives him more freedom in that respect. He said they were more "open." Hopefully this means free Portal 2 DLC for PS3!

@Kajaah117:  I was thinking this BUT, EA would be stupid to try and pressure Valve into doing anything. They're like Blizzard to Activision, at this point they can more then likely sustain themselves without anyone else. EA just makes it a bit cheaper.

I read somewhere (can anyone confirm) that this had support for the regular controller as well? If so, I'd expect to see this on XBLA. Also this Kotaku report on the rumor shows a resume someone wrote which mentions working on the port. It refers to the port as (PSN/XBLA). Details here:
     http://kotaku.com/5554809/dead-space-extraction-hd-guiding-its-way-to-ps3-xbox-360

What do you guys think of the chances that I can download this on 360 and play it with a standard controller? I have it on Wii but playing with HD visuals would be worth giving up the motion control.

Super excited.  I played the first three levels of Extraction one day and was super impressed, but trophy/achievement guilt kept me from coming back.  Not any longer.

It's too bad Nintendo is such a staunchly Japanese company, because having some sort of Wiichievements would get me playing more than Silent Hill and old Resident Evils.

For the record, I'd probably have an S-Rank in Silent Hill Shattered Memories.

This seems pretty cool.  I'm actually pretty stoked to check out Move.  Can't get that excited about Kinect, maybe once it's out I'll feel different.

So, will this be a trilogy pack or just Dead Space 2 and Dead Space: Extraction? Extraction was a prequel to the first game, right? Seems weird to package two games together that are missing the middle of the chronological story.

    Doesn't EA publish Mass Effect?
