I'm poor, so I finally got to play Dead Space this weekend when I stumble across the demo on Live. What do you guys think about it?

    • To me, it's really, really hard. But, I don't know, I could be new at it all. Is the full game really that hard?
    • Issac's character model seemed to have no anti-aliasing whatsoever, and that sort of threw me off.
    • The guns feel extremely ineffective, and the whole "dismemberment" thing they try to force you into really doesn't feel like it works. Is the full game completely different?

I enjoyed it. I also found it pretty challenging because each creature took pretty damn long to kill. But it was awesome to see half a corpse crawling at me once I severed its legs.

1- Its not really all that bad, playing it on normal, all I've heard people say was they felt it was actually very easy(I played it on hard so I dunno.)

2- Not much to say here, the aliasing on his model was a bit higher than everything else, but I'm used ti it with almost all console games.

3-As far as this, its pretty much completely the opposite. It works great in the game, and the guns are actually very effective, even more so once you get one focused on and powered up. If you go for anything but dismemberment on the enemies, you're going to be shooting them far more than when you don't, and ammo is pretty precious in this game.

I bought the full game and enjoyed it thoroughly. It's the first survival horror game I've enjoyed for a long time. I found the limb severing system forced me to use good aim, and take time to steady my shots to conserve ammo. There are better things to spend credits on.
Definitely one of the better purchases Ive made this year.

And there were a lot of "OH SHIT" moments for me because you can't pause the game, pull out a gun you think about for a while and go back to normal gameplay. That's really what made it difficult for me.

And that's the best part!  But still, the game itself isn't that hard (I just got it and played a little bit and it is very easy so far), and it is a lot of fun.  The guns also need to be upgraded to be as effective as something like a Lancer.  The whole premise of the game is that you are fighting to survive with engineer tools.

I loved the Ripper. It was just too loud as I was playing in class.
