It is worth at least a rent if you don't plan to buy. I enjoyed a run through with it. Never really picked it up again because well I am pretty much done with it.

You're going to have a hard time finding anyone who doesn't like Dead Space.

Personally I think it is definitely worth at least 2 playthroughs, just to fiddle around with all the weapons and upgrades. If you got no problem paying $60 for games then you should totally get Dead Space.

Got It at best buy for $40. No reason not to get it now.

I would have say that it is definitely worth $60, however the current new price for it is, $40, and that's a hell of a deal!.
I would have paid the full $60 for the game any day. It has quite a bit to offer and the DLC seems pretty solid though i haven't gotten any of it yet, only read the descriptions of it on this here site. 

It's $30 on steam for the pc version, even if the controls are gimped. I played the demo on the ps3 and I didn't like it at all. I hope the game isn't like the demo. I am waiting for a big sale on steam and i'll get it. I'll get it when the price is right, it seems like alot of ppl really likes the game.

Here in The Neherlands EA dropped the price from 60 euro to 30 euro, so I think that the price in the US has dropped too.

Why do you respond on a threat that is 4 months old. By know, the price has being cut.

It's been about 8 months since it's release, and yes, Dead Space is still worth your $60.

First off-GO BUY IT NOW! its amazing and you wont regret it. second- There was an error at Target where Dead Space was supposed to be 40$, but the computer said it was 30$ by mistake, so I got my copy ten dollars cheaper than everybody else. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I own everyone.

I got my copy on Friday for 10 bucks.  I actually got Dead Space, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey and Too Human for 10 bucks each, at Future Shop (Ontario stores).  They are on sale this week. :)

Funny i just replayed Dead Space this week end for the "one gun" trophy, This game is brilliant from start to finish, i love it so much and I still believe what i said back then, this is my 2008 GOTY.

Basically, it boils down to this :

Anyone who's seen Even Horizon and thought it was a cool movie should play Dead Space. Period.

It's a great game, but I think $60 is a bit too much. Maybe slightly cheacher.
