Well i bought it! I really like the game, although it is a bare (with eight fighters and five stages) compared to other fighter game franchises, like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Virtua Fighter.
The game has a high learning curve with a heavy focus in strategy, blocking and dodging. Also generally the fights don't take more than thirty seconds, as almost if not all fighters can kill in a single move, if lucky enough.
It is good, with a lot of replayability, as no two fights will ever happen in the same way.
The "realistic" approach is well implemented, although the degree of damage seems a little random, as two strikes can give rise to different damage, and while you chop arms, legs, the head and bleed to death, you can't crawl in the battle field. Still it is very well implemented this kind of gameplay.
Unlockables include various kinds of weapons and armour, and also avatar clothing.
The game while won't blow you out of the water, it is very well made, and for me it is worth the 800 points.
Any questions?

edit: another important detail is that each fighter represents the concept of a fighter of each class, be it a pirate, or a ninja, and not particulary a character. They have shouts, but not really a personality.
Deadliest Warrior: The Game
Game » consists of 3 releases. Released Jul 14, 2010
Drawing inspiration from the Bushido Blade series, Deadliest Warrior: The Game is a 3D fighting game based on the Spike TV show "Deadliest Warrior", where generic versions of ancient warriors clash to find out who is the deadliest.
I got the Deadliest Warrior. Any questions about the game?
If that's the case is it comparable to Bushido Blade, if you've played it?
I was playing the demo and found clipping to be a issue with the Spartan, as in the spear would go through the ninja at times and do no damage whatsoever, same problem with the shield. Have you noticed that to be an issue with any other warrior?
the warriors in it are:" What warriors are in it ? Anyways good to see that this doesn't suck, I kinda enjoy the show "
- the roman centurion
- the spartan
- the knight
- the samurai
- the ninja
- the Apache indian
- the Pirate
- the Viking
I did too, from what i've saw of the show. It is a nice fighting game.

There aren't any real person cameo in the game." Is Jeff Bidges in the game? "

I haven't played it, still i think it is, from what i've heard. You can play the demo, to see if you think it too." If that's the case is it comparable to Bushido Blade, if you've played it? "

I've unlocked the samurai outfit. There are probably more, still i have only beat the game with the roman centurion, samurai and spartan, so there are bound to be more." and what are the avatar awards? "

Yeah sometimes. Sometimes the fighting gets really intense, and some blows don't count. Or luckily or unluckily you can provoke or take some pretty bad damage like severing the arm, or taking out the head of the opponent." " Is it as realistic as the TV commercials on Spike claim it to be? "Yeah i think so. Even the fighting styles are pretty accurate, although the blocking mechanism feels a little unrealistic.
Wasted opportunity, that license could make for a good game but it looks horrible and it feels like it would be better if locked to a 2d plane.
At least it isn't an Japanese anime game.
Is fiddy cent in there? Or any equivalent of fiddy? If there is, then does he ride a van? If he does, then does he jump over bigass ramps with his friend who may or may not be Tony YaYo?

" If that's the case is it comparable to Bushido Blade, if you've played it? "I'd like to know this too. Bushido Blade was the best thing back in the day and needs a modern interpretation.
"I liked the game, and i prefer in 3D, as it gives new emphasis to tactics. You can hide, circle the oponent, fight him from the distance, it is more realistic this way, as 2D feels really limited to a fighter with such emphasis in strategy.Wasted opportunity, that license could make for a good game but it looks horrible and it feels like it would be better if locked to a 2d plane.

Its supposed to be some kinda sim in some way, so 3d movement makes sense. A 3d plane Last Blade type thing could be cool, haven't seen that since Fighter's Destiny. I agree its a potentially fun idea, and also its the basis behind like every fighting game already except they're not limited to what could happen in reality.
" @BergDK said:I understand that point, but sometimes the camera just screws you over when you get near a wall or pillar, not to mention how tough it is to get your guy to face the opponent sometimes."I liked the game, and i prefer in 3D, as it gives new emphasis to tactics. On the Joystiq preview they were talking about customizing the look and weapons of the fighters as you play - how deep does that go? How many outfit and weapon options are there per fighter? It seemed like there were a few slots for weapon types, how does that work? Bring in any four weapons or pick one each from a set of categories?
I think Richard mentioned there were around 50 different weapons and armor for use in the preview.
Each fighter has, like in the show, three kinds of weapons that he brings to a fight - long range, mid range and short range - and also a specific armour. You take one of each kind to a fight. As you play more, you come to unlock different weapons, i think one for each range, and a new armour, each with their specific characteristics (like speed, damage and manoeuvrability). You can make different combinations of weapons and armours afterwards. It's not very deep, but with everything else gives a more robust fighting system." It is true! I think there is a bit of a problem with the dogde move, as you invariably will look towards the side you have dogded to, and will be open to to a counter attack." @Jeust said:

Yeah, i think the developers said in a interview they had plans to add new fighters. The weapons do feel different with different ranges, speed, damage and techniques." Are they going to add new warriors to it? And do the weapons feel different? "
No IRA vs Taliban? That was the best episode!
" @Jeust:Ha! I have never seen the TV show, but that makes me think I really should watch it.

Looks like high quality entertainment.
Is it based in the show like do you practice with the weapons and then fight or is it just a fighting game. Is the narrator guy in it from the show?
" @Darksaw said:I don't think so, as with high power long range weapons, it would brake the fighting system. Ancient warriors aren't any match for both IRA or the Taliban." @Jeust:Ha! " Does the real game HAVE FRAMERATE DROPS EVERY 5 SECONDS, like the trial? "Not every five seconds. Both sometimes it happens.

There's the trial game. Me and my brother just spent an hour with it, and we're considering buying it now. Pretty fun, though I advise you to have someone to play it with.
There's an achievement for beating 25 warriors in survival mode- i'm having an issue even finding survival mode.
As for my thoughts on the game. I think it's a good value for $10. I find myself wishing for more stages and characters, which I know I'll pay for later, bu the fighting system is deep and interesting. My wife and I had a good time murdering each other for about an hour earlier, it was great!
The sound is what you would expect if you fought a realistic battle. No techno music, or classic, or even rock, only enviromental sounds." i dont know what ur talking about this game is fucking terrible. The sound quality is awefull, the game is way too hard, and the whole thing is just boring. "
The game isn't too hard, the game is focused heavily on strategy. If you button mash or head straight to battle you are bound to lose. You have to defend, circle the oponent, find and opening, create a opening, and strike.
And i agree that gets boring after a while, although i find it awesome to play for short periods, as no two battles will be the same. And it is fun when you get the hang of the figthing system.
" @DrFreeman said:Now that is deadly. I'm glad to hear it, I've grown tired of people claiming to be the deadliest and it takes a good 10 minutes for a fatality." How deadly is the deadliest warrior? "Very. The deadliest warrior can kill you in a few seconds. lol "
Lol most fights in the game won't take more than thirty seconds. With frequency one of the warriors suffer some heavy damage and is disabled, be it in the use of one arm, or a leg, or maybe headless, in which case the fight ends, which makes the game pretty brutal sometimes. If you start badly a fight, it is generally hard to turn it around." @Jeust said:

From the looks of it, it is the medieval knight. With all fighters that i pitted against him, i always had a hard time. Heavy armour plating, shield, sword, crossbow and a lance make him pretty hard to beat." WHO is the deadliest warrior? "
