Charming. Intelligent. Enigmatic. These are just a few words that nobody ever uses when describing DeathSpank. He doesn't shoot first and ask questions later. He doesn't even realize there are questions.
Synopsis
DeathSpank is a new title following the adventures of the thong-wearing warrior, known only as "DeathSpank". The game is being developed by Ron Gilbert (creator of Monkey Island) in conjunction with Hothead Games and has been described as " Diablo meets Monkey Island" and will include an interface based on that of the Scumm engine's.Information
- The game will feature both RPG and Point 'N' Click Puzzle- solving elements.
- It's been announced that DeathSpank will no longer be episodic but rather one big title.
- Three teaser trailers were shown at the Hothead booth at PAX 2008 and can be viewed here.
- It will have an open world with with a similar spherical look to that of games like Super Mario Galaxy and Animal Crossing: Wild World.
- The Canadian government is funding this game.
- The game won't include any load screens.
- Hundreds of weapons and armor are to be collected over the course of the game.
- The visual style mixes 2D and 3D elements, so as to look like a pop-up book.
