Defiance 2050 utilizes a lot of the same assets (voiceover, story, and so on) as the original Defiance, but it is presented as a new shard of the game. Existing characters do not come over, but some cosmetic purchases from the original Defiance come into 2050.
Changes to leveling and class configuration have been made. The business end of the game has also been reworked, with specific character classes available for sale rather than content packs.
The game was shut down alongside the original Defiance on April 29th, 2021.
