    The Deku Tree is a dungeon and a character. This massive tree has been cursed by Ganondorf because he wouldn't give up the spiritual stone of Earth. The curse has caused a parasite to infest him, so Link must go inside him and kill the creature. The primary enemies in this dungeon are Skulltulas and Deku Scrubs. The Boss in this dungeon is Queen Gohma.

    Queen Gohma

    This is the first boss in the game. Queen Gohma can be defeated by shooting her in the eye with a slingshot, and then cutting her with the sword. Every time she recovers, she retreats to the ceiling and drops eggs. These eggs hatch into smaller versions of her, which are easy to kill and often drop Deku Seeds or hearts. After hurting Queen Gohma sufficiently, she dies.
