    so sue me! i just got the game today. i just done understand how you level up? do i have to go someplace or do something to level up? i have passed the first dungeon.

    you just spend souls you gain on skill points when you talk to the candle lady in the nexus. You also gain soul level when you collect souls I think ?

    @Jackel2072: You can't gain any soul levels until you beat the first real boss - the Phalanx (blob guy).  Once you beat that first level and then go back to the Nexus, the Blind lady will allow you to touch the demon inside of her.
