The game is awesome.   I got the deluxe version with the strategy guide, art book and music CD (yeah!).
 
BTW, the item icons look good.  It's likely that Jeff had PMS.

Cool.  The guide has a lot of useful information (besides the walkthrough) and that is a great OST.

I grabbed a deluxe edition as well and the packed in Guide is really well done.  I wish I had that guide the first time I played the game lol, had to depend on the wiki if I needed help.

I started flipping through it when I reached the part with a dragon blocking a bridge.  I found my own way and crossed it without dying once, but I did find interesting things in the guide: There's a "Quirks and Tricks: A plethora of interesting information" section (p. 102).  One of the things it described is an acrobatic jump/roll.  Throughout the guide it outright tells you the easiest way to kill the bad guys and there are a lot of charts and lists.  It's 160 pages long. Getting excited about this game, I like the idea of brutal gameplay.

I also got the Deluxe Edition when I bought it and I find it pretty useful. It's only $10 more too, so I think it's totally worth it.

I watched the video on here. And while I can't say it looked amazing to me, there was something strangely intriguing about it. I don't have much patience but I think I'll give it a try anyway.

It looks pretty cool. I would love to pretend that I am a masochist and enjoy a game punishing me for not being good enough, but until I actually play Demon's Souls (which probably won't be for a while unless they decide to port it to the 360), I won't know for sure.

I think I will hunt down the deluxe edition. I went to several stores in my area today and could not find this game. Everyone is sold out, but I am sure the internet can help me out.

I would have picked up the Deluxe Edition but it wasn't even available for pre-order at Gamestop. Considering we only got three copies of the regular version (which we sold out of in one day) I don't think we'll be seeing any. Sad really. Oh well my standard edition will console me.
 
Which brings up a question I've had. Why don't they have a stand alone guide? This is the type of game that screams to have one. I know I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

This and Dragon Age are both on my christmas lists, come on Santa don't let me down.

It seems like a lot of you had trouble finding it due to it being sold out.  Do you think Demon's Souls is doing well in sales or did these stores just not stock up on it?

Stores probably stocked far less of it than games like Halo or Mario...
 
It's still available at every store locally, but Gamestop.com is backordered, so it definitely did better than anyone expected.

Not going to get it, I heard it's fustrating and I had enough fustrations with ps3 exclusives. I might consider dragon age instead, however I might not either.

As I live in Australia and therefore cannot buy Demon's souls locally, I imported a Deluxe edition from Play-asia. Definitely worth the extra for the Deluxe, Besides even if i could buy it here it would cost at least $110 AUD, buying from Play-asia purchasing US edition games i can get them for around $70 - $80 AUD.
