I played the alpha but i didnt notice the toughpad being used for anything more than a button. Did I miss something? I wonder if they will do something with it.

I think you answered your own question. The touch pad seems to be mainly used as a button, unless it's a first party game. I know some games let you scroll around maps with it though, maybe destiny will let you do that? I'm not in the alpha.

I hope they have touchpad support for the menu in the final game, seems like with a big cursor you would be able to get away with it.

Kind of off topic, but how long is the destiny alpha for? My ps4 won't be arriving till Monday and I'm not sure if it closes before then.
