Not at all trying to start some sorta fan boy war here; just trying to figuring out whether to preorder DE on ps3 or 360...
Has anyone heard anything about benefits of one over the other? thanks
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Game » consists of 17 releases. Released Aug 23, 2011
Human Revolution is the third game in the Deus Ex series, a prequel where players take control of augmented security officer Adam Jensen, and investigate attacks against Sarif Industries, a leader in augmentation technology.
Lead console?
I think most of the demos shown were on PS3 and the videos they've released so far were composed of PS3 footage as well.
Probably no noticable difference though.
Isn't PC version made by some other studio that is terrible with PC ports?Nixxes Software handles the porting. I've played quite a few CrystalD games on the PC and have never had a problem with them.
Well on the wiki page it says "...Xbox 360 serving as its lead development platform" but I don't think there will be any significant changes between the 360 and PS3 versions. If I'm getting it, it'll probably be on PC though.

There really is no 1 platform the devs are pushing.
So get it on what you prefer, unless reviews revel one version is better or something and the game is still a month away for reviews to start pouring in outside of print media.
But yea personally definitely getting this on the PC.
PC all the way MOFO.
It because I dont own a console, any of them. Also, I got the game for 28 bucks. So my advice is, go for the system where its the cheapest.
Flip a coin if it bothers you so much. Of course, if you have a good enough computer you should probably just get the PC version, for authenticity's sake or whatever. That way while you're playing it you can wear your tinfoil hat and tell yourself that this game was developed first and foremost for the PC like the first Deus Ex!

I don't even know what point you were trying to make with this stupid sentence.
I always go for the 360 version when it comes to multi-platform games, unless the PS3 version is better in any way. Like if I had a PS3 when LA Noire came out I probably would have bought it for that instead of the 360, I bought my PS3 two weeks later. :/
If they were to work the other way around, a game optimized to take full advantage of the PS3 would have trouble running on the weaker 360. They would either have to cut performance for that version, something you rarely see besides the occasional frame-rate dip or disc-swap, or set artificial limits for themselves based on what the 360 will be able to handle, in which case they might as well develope with that as the lead in the first place.
In the end, it doesn't really matter. I can only think of a handful of games that have meaningful differences between the two versions, but I am curious about this stuff. Any insight you might have would be appreciated.
Everything I have seen from this game looks iffy. I am definitely on a wait and see attitude for this game.
I'll play it on the PC, but I've heard the 360 was originally the lead platform for DEX:HR, so maybe that one?

I don't see the point of this question in 2011.
Because poor ports still happen.
Not a lot though. Another thing is this game doesn't come out for another 2 weeks so no one would be able to know if there was a major difference between the 2.@SethPhotopoulos said:

I agree that it's too early to ask this question... but like I said, these poor ports do still happen. It's a valid question as long as it continues to be an issue, however small that issue may be.
the PS3 for me, it just seems so fitting for its style and grace. The controls, atmosphere, etc etc.
I want it on both consoles honestly but cant afford both, the ps3 is my primary console nonetheless. Plus with it being the length of LA Noire or longer I would prefer it to be on one solid Blue-Ray than multiple dics.
