He has more health than I have bullets and grenades! Plus I'm stealth augmented, kind of ruining the game for me.

Human Revolution is the third game in the Deus Ex series, a prequel where players take control of augmented security officer Adam Jensen, and investigate attacks against Sarif Industries, a leader in augmentation technology.
the first boss is impossible on max difficulty
Wow, I'm seriously getting frustrated. There is no way to game him. Plus his grenades are one hit kills. This would be possible if I was augmented with armor..
I already made a topic about the issue of having boss fights in a game that allows you to be stealthy.
Yeah I am stealth spec'ed as well. I am currently infiltrating some base where I am deep underground and I am positive that I am about to hit the first boss. I have a tranq sniper with about 15 shots, a stun gun with 10, a pistol with around 70 shots, some random grenades, and a shotgun with 3 shells that I have soley to sell. So I am kind of worried about how this fight will go.
If you have max difficulty then it takes maybe 4 shots to kill you from his gatling gun and one hit from a grenade, unless your lucky and outrun it
Stuff like this is why I never, ever play games on hard unless I've beaten them on normal first. He was still a pain in the ass for me on normal, and the load times didn't help. Think it took me three or four tries, grenades helped a lot. There's also a ton of ammo spread around the room you fight him in if you run away and look around.
You have to be fast on max difficulty. I'm worried about the other bosses that I will come across. Guess I have to change my augmentation concentration..
After dying many many times I finally got a "feel" for it. Didn't panic when he got close and simply ran like a bitch, being careful about line of sight. In my opinion the key is to use grenades and take advantage of the small rooms in the corners.
It's kind of strange that they build a game around the idea that you can play it any way you want to, but then force you into direct confrontation with bosses. It would have been nice if there were ways to defeat the boss using my stealth/hacking skill set. I ended up beating him very cheaply, because he blew himself up with his own grenades, I had no lethal weapons on me and no armour. I was completely unprepared for it.
I guess an easy way would be to make it so when the fight starts, the game makes the bosses health 0 and thus makes the game go immediately into the cut scene after.
i died 5 times to him, then the 6th time i completely owned him. keep at it.
it was like 2 clips or so of the assault rifle. EMP grenades stun him for a good 3-5 seconds., he's real easy to dodge around and break line of sight ot confuse him between the various things to hide behind in the room.
If you are playing on the hardest difficulty the onus is on you to be prepared, simple as that.
In the mission itself can be found multiple grenades both flash and stun that will freeze the boss and damage him, you can find a rocket launcher with several rockets to go with it as well. In the room with the boss itself there are grenades and ammo strewn about. This is a non exhaustive list, there are more things that can be done further, like upgrading your pistol to shoot AP rounds.
If you are playing on the hardest difficulty don't bitch about the difficulty unless you have taken all possible steps to prepare for it, otherwise drop it to normal.
This guy was a headache for me too.
I had four proxy mines on me that I collected in the previous mission. When the fight started, I dashed left into the smaller room. This makes the boss come to you. I stacked all my mines on the floor where I knew he'd walk. He walked over them, they exploded, a barrel exploded, and about five pistol shots later he died.
This fella speaks the truth. If you are playing on the hardest difficulty the onus is on you to be prepared, simple as that.

Really? I found him to be hella easy. If you have either a rifle or pistol, constantly spray at his head and he'll fall down soon. Just switch cover when reloading.

It's pretty easy if you have a few frag grenades. As soon as the fight starts, grenade him, then shoot him in the head a bunch of times with your pistol. When he recovers from the grenade, throw another one, and repeat the process. A few rounds of this, and he's dead.
It's cheap, but it works. And boss fights are inherently cheap, so you're just evening out the tables.

That's what I meant. To either make the boss's health go to zero or just make it immediatly skip to cutscene. I'm old time Thief: The Dark Project player and just loved the fact that you could pretty much finish the game undetected.
that will take him down pretty quick.
I was able to stun him with the tazer, drop a gas 'nade near him and keep tazing him inside the gas until he dropped.
Not on Insanomax difficulty, mind you, but I was stealth-spec'd.

I'm sure the guy they flew in from Japan to QA test hardcore mode
didn't whine about it being a problem. :-)
I play the hard modes last because I'd rather read other gamer's
commentary on how to beat the tough spots, rather than be the
guinea pig, who is probably really close to smashing his controller
against the wall by now...amirite?
Interesting. Completing the game on hard mode is worth 0 points, just the achievement
itself. I wonder if gamer score is going away on the Xbox?
I have to say this is one thing that Alpha Protocol got totally right, aside from the parts where the bosses were vehicles. If you were spec'd to stealth, you could do a stealth takedown on the boss and be done with it, simple as that. It was amazing.
Boss is surprisingly easy if you're willing to be cheap. I'm a pure stealth build and I took him down with 10-15 stun shots and 2 frags. Just circle him with the stun gun and throw a nade every once in awhile.
I'm pretty sure you can pick up the rocket launcher at Detroit anytime you want, I didn't take it though.. takes up a LOT of space.

Didn't pick up the rocket launcher? Enjoy doing the whole level over.
Nice game design.
He's actually pretty easy to take down using only the grenades and barrels provided in the room. If you are playing on the hardest difficulty you will probably want to use some pain pills, which are also provided.
I was a little disappointed because I dragged a hacked turret all the way down there and it was stuck behind the door to the room. You could see it through the glass, but the door became unbreakable once the boss fight started.
I beat him on Give me Deus Ex with my armor piercing pistol, a few frag grenades and one exploding barrel. It took me a few tries to get the timing done.

Look up 'Dishonored', specifically the recent RockPaperShotgun interview with the devs.
That game sounds like a stealth lover's fantasy. Even the mission objective assassinations apparently don't have to do down.
Only came up on my radar yesterday and it automatically became my most anticipated release.
I had about seven concussive grenades when I got to this boss as well as a boat-load of ammo because I was stealthing it up like a pro.
I just threw one grenade, hid behind a pillar while it went off, then peeked out and headshotted him with my pistol about six times, and repeat x4.
Also on the "Give me Deus Ex" difficulty.
Toss a few frag grenades at his feet and shoot him in the face with combat rifle. The fight starts with him standing in front of an explosive barrel, fer chrissakes.
So to ask a tangential question:
In the original Deus Ex, the thing I loved about the difficulties were the systems (AI, your actual health, damage you do) wasn't affected, but with each difficulty level enemy gun damage moved closer to being equal with you. On 'realistic' a shot to the head from a bad guy made you die. So far this game seems that way- but wanted to see if others have this observation or not
