Based off my first impressions, I'd have to say that this game is distinctly underwhelming compared to the first one(especially considering I played this right after finishing that). But aside from the obvious degradations in terms of gameplay quality(no skill points, no health system, no aiming), the biggest difference I've noticed is that the game seems to favour conversation and sidequests more than the original game.
Essentially, in the original Deus Ex, you'd be dropped into an area with both hostiles and friendlies, and your job was to circumvent or kill the hostiles and get help from the friendlies. In Invisible War, your job is to move among groups of friendlies, avoiding the enemy security guard or bot here and there.
For some reason, it reminds me a bit of a Bioware game.
