I'm super glad singleplayer requires logging into their servers.

The first time I logged in I actually got to the character creation screen, but it would just time out when I tried to create the character.

I'm not even going to stress about getting in. Maybe I'll try in earnest again in 30 minutes.

You'd think the company that runs the most server intensive game on the planet would know a thing or two about people wanting to get on servers.

same! and I was totally confident earlier that of all companies, Blizzard would be the one to handle a launch successfully. just too damn many of us! smashing the enter key!

seriously this is crap. for being the 'gods of pc gaming' they should have been ready for this. almost 30 min in and I can't create a game

It's all because of the stupid "always online" garbage. I got SC2 on launch day and it wasn't nearly this bad because you could at least get into the menues without having to do a bunch of checks, and at worst you could play offline. 
 
Edit: I figured out my issue, it seemed to default some Canadians to Europe since we get a different client than the US (Because we use British English, not American English), I never got into Europe. I did get into America on my fifth try, but then decided I'm too sleepy so I'm just going to sleep (IE: The fetching heroes thingy was taking too long and I decided to not play all night), wake up, and marathon the game the entire day other than one tiny errand I have to run in the morning.

The Act 1 boss is actually error 37. Blizzard always finding clever ways to add depth to their games.

There's zero chance any of us are going to be able to log in man. I would give up and try again tomorrow... err later today?

This game is really hard - I haven't even got past the login screen yet. I'm gonna have to search for a walkthrough.

Buying Diablo 3 as proven more challenging then it should have, Amazon.co.uk have only just got it back in stock and ShopTo failed to despatch my copy for release. Tempted to just buy the digital version.

Do we have confirmation that the servers are up?

Am I the only person who finds it odd that you have to login to a server to player a single player game?

You would think they would at least be capable of some kind of queueing system, at the very least.

It's measure that combats hacking and privacy whilst enforcing an item economy in which they benefit from. For Blizzard, the perks are numerable.

I just wish that they staggered the release.

Well since they've "added more servers" I seem to be able to get error 37 faster and more efficiently.

My keyboard says that each key can withstand 5 million keystrokes. My ctrl, v and enter keys are going to be shot in the next 20 minutes.

it is a good thing blizzard does not run an MMO , who knows what could happen

Well that was quicker then I expected, downloaded Diablo 3 (all 7.6GB) in 16 minutes. Very glad that the Blizzard downloader is at least working, thought I'd be here all day with what a mess login seems to be. 

Just got in as well.

And an hour and forty minutes later..

Connected to Battle.net Server -Check!
Authenticated -Check!
Retrieving Heroes -Check!
...
... ...
Guess what? Nope! FUCK YOU! ERROR 3006! Try this shit again!

Whoops! Spoke to soon. Seems the installer is broken or the files. Getting an error message on installation. Bit of a mess of a launch isn't it.

Nah, only problem I had was logging in. On a side note, how the hell do you get rid of the map on screen?!

Is Installer Tome 3.MPQE giving you the error? Run the downloader again and make sure to select where you have the installer files saved. It should download/repair whatever you're missing.

As sad as I may be for not having received my physical copy of the game yet, all this server overload bullshit is at least relieving me from some of the pain of waiting.
