did they change anything from the closed beta? haven't played it in about 2 weeks. But if it's the same, don't have much reason to play the first part of the game for the 5th time :P

It's exactly the same. Plus they just recently wiped the servers, so you can't even show off to new players with any of your fancy level 13 gear :P
All the people who whine on Twitter about the log in problems somehow amuse me. Do you really think you can log in the minute the open beta starts? I mean, come on, it's Diablo 3. Blizzard cannot brace its servers for impact enough.
Hopefully they aren't using the full capabilities of their servers, or if they are then clearly they need to do something about it before launch.
It's wayyyy better that this happens now so that it doesn't happen at launch.
Did Starcraft 2 have online issues at launch?

Why? They run WoW and Star Craft II. ...And frickin' WoW. They know what's up.
@RVonE: Well, the fact that they only made US servers available for pretty much the whole world to get in the open beta suggest they don't.
STATUS UPDATE:
I'm no longer getting an error message, but the connection keeps timing out.
I'm getting closer to playing! I think...
I got to the point where they told me to make a battle code but ever since haven't been able to get in.
@BoG: How old is your computer? Because I too, can run SC2 pretty well, but not sure if my PC can pull off Diablo 3. TERA ran quite ok though.
@BoG: Blizzard's never really been great at optimization. WoW only runs on as many setups as it does because it doesn't use any real particle or physics effects (in the GPU language sense). Their first foray into that kind of tech was with SC2, and D3 is full of it everywhere, so it's not the most well oiled machine.

How much content is actually in this? Someone in this thread said it was an hour. Is it really that short? I would assume getting to level 13 would be at least 3 hours
First run took me 2 hours 14 minutes.
Edit, that was as a barb, pretty much uninterrupted. Didn't really do any crafting in that period.
Edit #2, that wasnt level 13 either, finishing the beta content will land you on level 9 or 10 most likely, you need to run skeleton king a few times to hit 13.
If you are European and getting Error 3003, go into accounts and set your region to "Americas" (probably good to check for all Europeans either way), as there is no European open beta, afaik. :P
edit: Not that I'm in yet, but at least getting a server response now.

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. Kind of strange they don't have one for Europe. I mean, there's stress testing and then there's being kind of crazy. :P
@emem: Well, they use peer-to-peer for the downloader/patcher, so should not be an issue, unless you have a service that rejects bittorrent-style connections.
@Scottish_Sin: Yeah, I've spent most of an hour reading up on "Error 3003" - apparently is also a random error that some people have gotten when: a) Their PC doesn't meet requirements. b) Their DNS doesn't connect properly to Diablo 3, c) Device Drivers are out of date ... and so on, before I found the suggestion to swap to Americas, and now I'm stuck at "Retrieving Hero Lists..." ;)
What in the f.
It finally does something other than telling me the servers are busy and it says my account doesn't have a Diablo 3 license attached to it.
