Seems like they buffed witch doctors. So far I just run into packs of mobs, soul harvest, then acid. Everything dies
@spoogemcduck: I feel like I've been playing my witch doctor wrong, I'm either good against groups or bosses, but I need different builds for each one.
I played a Demon Hunter through the game on Normal and enjoyed it, but not enough to really continue on Nightmare. I guess that means I could go straight to Act V if I were to get Reaper of Souls.
I have one of every character class at 60, except the Witch Doctor, who is at level 48 right now.
Haven't played in a while, or since they put out the new patch, but I think I'm gonna reinstall everything now before the expansion comes out.
Prior to loot 2.0 patch, my highest was lvl 47 monk, because I didn't want to use AH and was getting my ass handed to me on Nightmare Act 2. Since the patch the Monk is 60, but now i'm finding that I'm not really a fan of the need for the monk to bail out of fighting on and off.
So now I'm working on my DH to get her up to 60 and start paragoning proper with her.
@mercer: What do you mean by need to bail out of fighting?
I had 6 60s (two Barbs) pre-1.03 Inferno nerf (because I'm crazy). I've had 9 total now, but I had to delete several to make room for hardcore characters.
I bought the digital deluxe edition of RoS solely because it gives more character slots than the regular edition.
@mercer: sorry but my monk is a beating post that rarely takes damage unless he's standing in fire and being given the Ghostbuster treatment by a crowd of Arcane orbs around him. but this was me using "one with everything" as a passive, stacking my gear toward 1 resistance type (using the AH of course.) Something i'm glad is no longer necessary.
@zirilius: A demon hunter should be able to hang quite easily in torment 1 to start with at about 100-150k dps
@tennmuerti: DH really needs that much damage for torment 1? I've been doing torment 2 consistently as a monk with 75k and torment 3 less consistently. Is the Demon Hunter survivability just that bad?
@tobbrobb: It's less about needing damage to survive and more about time to kill stuff. All classes can build for survival and with enough toughness and life on hit can do tougher difficulties (tho the Monk has the most options to avoid damage outright). But at some point you would just be wasting time taking too long to kill anything and it's more effective to just drop down the difficulty. At 100-150k dps you kill trash before it even gets to you and elites are also not much of a problem because they can be focused down quite fast. At lower damage levels DH would need to think about wasting skill slots on survival abilities rather then damage or mobility skills. Also a 100k is a good base level that the more dps focused classes can very easily get quickly with loot 2.0 and some crafting, thus start doing torment right away very smoothly.
@tennmuerti: Ah right, that makes sense. I only read "hang quite easily" as being able to survive, not being efficient. I see your point. Efficiency is also why I have been doing Torment 1 or 2 rather than 3. Though I do enjoy the active parts of trying to survive overwhelming odds in 3 or 4 even though the fights do take a LOT of time.
@tennmuerti: Yeah my lvl 60 demon hunter is absolutely fine on Torment 1, so fine in fact that I am going to jack up the difficulty soon. My survivability is never a problem, but I could use more damage output, I'm at 90k right now and while I can last a long time without even thinking of using a healing potion, I would like to be able to kill things a little quicker.
@tennmuerti: @oldmanlight: Yeah, I think I may have ended up leveling too fast to find appropriate gear. I've been trying different builds along with One With Everything. I probably need to find a good shield to boost survivability in higher torments anyway.
Just think I'm burnt out on the class I guess.
DH is fragile but I like the battefield management and quickness a little more.
I have a DH at 60 but I'm playing a Wizard right now who should be 60 by the time of RoS. I expect that will be my main, but I like the look of Crusaders and may switch to one of them if the playstyle suits me.
