Diablo III returns to the world of Sanctuary twenty years after the events of Diablo II with a new generation of heroes that must defeat the demonic threat from Hell.
So, anyone still playing this?.
Yeah I am still playing it on both PC and PS4. I took a break from PC and started the PS4 not too long ago to play with a friend. And I have to say I may like the console one a bit more.Other then not having seasons which i can live without. It is a really solid version. I cannot wait for the new patch.
I played 100% of Diablo III with a friend of mine. The first time was when the game launched, and we made it to around Level 50 in Act III on Nightmare. Right now we are towards the end of Act V in Reaper of Souls. Currently around Level 70, Paragon Level 15.
So yeah, we had like a 2 and a half year break, but I'm still playing Diablo right now. We're playing on PC though. :(
When the new season starts on PC I'm returning to it. There is enough of a buzz that it's probably going to be pretty busy.
The main new thing in this season is that they are adding high end crafting options through the Cube which will essentially add a lot to anyones dps and to the damage plateau. Numbers are going to get bigger. (I haven't PTR'd myself but I hear quotes of 2-4x increase)
They are also streamlining some other things, and adding difficulties to the endgame (Changing from T6 to T10)
I'm probably going to play on of the 3 classes I played least (Crusader, Barb, WD) and have a seasonal go at it.
As a lot of people, I join in again on PC when new seasons start. I don't level paragon that much, usually stop playing before hitting 100, but I do my best to get a build to play on the highest Torment difficulty. Which I guess will be harder now, as they are adding more of them.
The seasons themselves are a great way of breathing more life into the game for me, but the fact that they usually add a lot of cool stuff at the same time is awesome. Like the whole weird Cube they are adding now.
I do wish I could get more character slots though... I think I only have one more left, and then I will have to start deleting my seasonal characters or something :/
They are also streamlining some other things, and adding difficulties to the endgame (Changing from T6 to T10)
T6 hasn't been "endgame" since Greater Rifts were introduced into the game, I'm sure T10 will be the same way. I hope T10 is orders of magnitude more difficult than T6 though, because as it stands, T6 is practically easy mode. I know it's that way for any reasonably well-geared character that I know.
I started back up a few weeks ago (PC) and am levelling up each class. Wizard's almost done, and I'm working on a monk, DH, and just started a barb. Ever since launch I'd only really played a DH. When the expansion came out I got a crusader to 47 but then fell off the game in general.
No idea about this seasons stuff though. I just started again because Diablo 3 feels so damn good.

If you're not into leaderboards and don't care about having the newest items first or exclusive transmogs for gear that can't be attained any other way, then seasons probably won't be of much interest to you.
You can start a Seasonal character who starts at level 1, and you start that character fresh with no artisans or gold or anything, and you have a separate stash as well. You get that character up as high as possible, and then when the season is over, that character switches over to "normal" mode along with all of the gear and XP you accumulated during the season. Every season has new seasonal-only legendaries that don't become available to non-seasonal characters until after the season is over, at which time they all get put into the normal loot tables.
To me the most interesting thing about seasons is that each season has transmogs that are unlocked when you get a seasonal character up to level 70 that can be used on all of your other regular characters, too. Once the season is over, there are no other ways to get those transmogs in the game. At least currently, anyway. Some of the transmogs so far have been pretty bad ass looking. Besides a couple of cosmetic pieces, you're really not missing anything by not participating in seasons.
Y'know, people talk a lot of shit about Diablo 3, how it fixed things that weren't broken from Diablo 2, how its story sucks, whatever. But I haven't played a single competing product (3rd person action RPG) that measures up to it in any respect for my tastes.
Noooooo not at alll.....
*has played both pc and console versions in last 24 hours* >_<
Its brainless and shallow and dumb and way too easy for the most part and i love it, shut up.
E: ill add my psn and battle.net tho im pretty sure ive added a few of you already.

Are you playing on easy mode? Step up the difficulty or push yourself more in greater rifts and you might find the game more engaging.
I can't wait until S4 to start on the PC. The Kania Cube adds a whole new layer to character customization, and I think will allow for some nifty combinations.
I also just picked up the PS4 version to mess around with when I don't feel like being on the computer. PSN is Takayamasama if anyone wants to add me for the nemesis/gift system, though I'm not 100% what those are.
@Mike: yeah i havent unlocked higher difficulty on ps4. And i play mostly by my lonesome so pc on master is a bit more of a challenge but mostly becomes a slugging match. I have a feeling single player on higher difficulties would be more fun on ps4 due to the roll.
@takayamasama: Gifts are drops that can only be used by a specific person on your friends list, you just use it when you pick it up and it mails the item to the player. Nemesis' spawn when a friend dies; whatever killed them shows up in your game only a harder version with better drops.
I play for a couple of hours week. Still farming for my set off-hand on my demon hunter. Totally excited for the patch that is supposed to be hitting next week if rumors are true.
@veektarius: The only thing close to me is Marvel Heroes but that doesn't even come close to the level of polish that D3 has.
@ripelivejam: Ok yeah...if you're only on Master, then you have barely even scratched the surface of what Diablo 3 is all about.
Yeah, I've been getting back into ps4 version while I wait for The Phantom Pain. I'll add you next time I play. Anyone else on ps4, feel free to send me a message. PSN is ShadyPingu
I play on PC, mostly because of seasons. Currently waiting for S4 to begin on Aug. 28.
They usually end the season a week before the new one, right? Is 2.3 coming this week?

After "cubing" a few items I can destroy T10. Not really hard if you have a well geared character.
2.3.0 is pretty awesome though. Really looking forward to season 4.

Rumor states patch should drop on the 25th which coincides with the start of the new season.
I'm mildly interested in playing on PS4 some more, though the main appeal is no lag/pausing. PSN is Valgresas. Also couch D3 is more fun than computer chair D3.
D3/D2 have never really been about being difficult, that's just how Inferno was tuned originally (i.e. stupidly); you can have nostalgia for that if you want but the point of the game is kill stuff and get loot not die in one hit to everything.

I find D3 without all the cheaters in the end-game is better than with all the cheaters. It kills the console versions for me.
@lukeweizer: Well you can just ignore them, I don't think anyone takes the console leaderboards (if they exist?) seriously; just play for fun and rejoice in your ability to pause the game and not have random lag spikes. I guess if you only play SC the difference is negligible but it's a very welcome respite for an HC player.
@veektarius: Torchlight II is pretty good....
I still play daily and am planning on hopping into season 4 on the first day this time around. Always happy to farm and level with people when the new season hits on the american server, add HalfwayThere#2934. If you see me on just shoot a message and I'll likely drop what I'm doing to join up with you.
I essentially restarted a short while ago in Season 3, after not playing since a bit after launch, on PC (Capum15#1930). Managed to get 3 characters to 70 regularly, then ended up joining some guys and getting the other 3 classes to 70 in like 5-10 minutes each via T6 rifts. I can still only really solo T3 with my Wizard, but I can handle T1 with everything else for the most part (T2 on Demon Hunter). I've taken a small break recently but plan to start hopping on more.
I'll probably make a Barbarian or Monk for Season 4 farmin' stuff, not sure if I could do more without burnout.
Still playing season 3 on pc currently, and on Xbox One as well. Mods and the duping on consoles is a joke but it's still fun with friends you know and trust. Waiting on season 4 and the 2.3 patch on both pc and consoles though. It's going to be another big improvement imo. Played some PTR and I really like where they're going with this next patch, although 2.3, on the whole, has been pretty damn buggy. Hope they get it sorted soon and before it drops on live and for season 4.
@oscar__explosion: Tried it!
@veektarius: Really? What about Diablo 3 do you like that seems so much more superior than Torchlight II? (not wanting to start an internet argument, I'm just curious)
I'm thinking about getting back into it. I started it on PS4 and loved it, then I got distracted by other stuff. I don't get a lot of time to play games anymore, so this is like the perfect game to listen to an audio book and bang out an hour a night or whatever.
PSN: NMeck702
@oscar__explosion: Well, it's been years, but if recollection served I had three major issues with Torchlight 2:
1) Becoming more or less invincible didn't even require me to understand my skills (which I didn't)
2) Wide open level design had me wandering around aimlessly a lot (Diablo has some levels like this, which are its worst)
3) Lack of ambience. For some reason, the grind in a grindy action RPG style game is much more apparent when it doesn't try to take itself seriously.
@obikwiet: @fredchuckdave: I don't think it'll ever be 'harder' just higher tiers for higher gear, extending the amount of time you can play and keep upgrading.
