Diablo

Game » consists of 10 releases. First released on Dec 31, 1996

Diablo is an isometric strategy RPG that takes place in and below the town of Tristram. In Diablo you use gothic fantasy weapons and spells to defeat hordes of monsters from hell through randomized dungeon levels, continuously gaining experience points, gold, and a variety of equipment to bolster your monster-killing potency along the way.

Arrow

A narrow projectile.
Axe

The axe is a tool used for many activities. Its uses include cutting wood, knocking down doors in emergencies, and rending your enemies limb from limb without mercy or regret.
Barrel

A barrel is a hollow cylindrical container, traditionally made of wood staves and bound with iron hoops. In video games, it is used in many ways to fill up a level or even be used in one. They also may explode. Use caution when around barrels.
Bone

Object used to make up a skeleton or skeletal frame.
Bone Pile

A heap of bones piled on top of one another. Some contain hidden items.
Bow

The bread and butter of any self respecting archer of game world. The stereotypical ranged weapon of olden times and fantasy settings.
Chain Mail

Armor made from links of metal, chain mail is very effective against cutting weapons, yet is relatively flexible.
Claymore

A claymore can either by a cross-hilted, two-handed sword carried by the Highlanders of Scotland, or a basket-hilten sword popularized in the 16th Century and still used today in the formal dress uniform of the Highland regiment of the British army.
Cloth Armor

This is armor made of cloth or some other light fabric.
Crate

Crates sometimes contain things!
Dagger

A knife-like weapon used for quick lethal strokes. Doesn't usually deal much damage unless foe is attacked repeatedly.
Door

Doors are a common object in most video games, as well as the keys and objects needed to open them. From role playing to shooters, doors are an important component of many games.
Fireball

A ball of hot flickering fire. Usually thrown from the hero's hand into the squealing face of the enemy.
Flail

A medieval weapon consisting of a length of wood attached by a chain to a weight at the end, often similar to a mace head.
Giant Axe

A large, heavy weapon that is usually double headed.
Gold

A valuable item highly sought after, often used as a reward or incentive to complete the story. Also used as a currency in many role playing games.
Halo

A golden ring, sometimes made of light, positioned above or surrounding a person's head. The presence of a halo usually indicates that they're either divine, or dead.
Helmet

Whether it's worn for protection or style, helmets appear in various game genres.
Identify Scroll

Identify scrolls are an item found in some action-RPG's which allow you to see the properties of a weapon/piece of armor.
Key

A small, usually metallic object used to open doors and locks. Also it is the highest scoring "fruit" in Pac-Man.
Knife

A knife is a commonly seen object in video games. Usually used for close quarters combat, or as a cutting tool.
Leather Armor

Armor made from leather that is only slightly beneficial in defending the user.
Lightning

Often used as either a weapon or in a weapon and also used often times as a weather effect, lightning is seen in several games. Called "thunder" in some games, even though thunder is the sound that lightning makes.
Longsword

A long, light blade, used with either one or two hands.
Magic Staff

A magic staff is a large, thick stick or stick-shaped object usually with a medallion or amulet connected to the top. It is mostly used for its magical capabilities, but can also be wielded as a light melee weapon.
Mana Potion

A mana potion is an item that restores mana points, which usually allow the use of special abilities in role-playing games
Meat Cleaver

Used to cut meat.
Mutilated Corpse

A corpse (excluding undead) that has been maimed in a grizzly manner. A common decorative in castle dungeons.
Peg Leg

An artificial leg. Depending on the time period, it could be made of any number of materials.
