Overview
Dino Crisis 2 is an action game that was developed by Capcom, and released on both the PlayStation and PC in 2000.
Unlike its predecessor, Dino Crisis 2 is much more action-focused, containing less of the puzzle elements that were in the first installment having it seen as much more shooter oriented than its survival horror predeccesor. Many differences were implemented to further retract much of the survival sense of gameplay and re-fit it with a run n gun affair. For example the characters would always run mid-gameplay, ammo was never an issue and spendable points to buy more ammo were gained through killing more dinosaurs.

Two weapons were always equipped simultanously too with the playable characters having themselves a firearm and a sidearm such as a machette or taser. Another major addition was the including of Dylan, while Regina was still playable at parts and featured heavily in the story, Dylan could be agreed on taking the lead role for Dino Crisis 2.
Dino Crisis 2 was well received by critics, earning strong reviews as a result of it's fresh take on the genre and exciting gameplay.
Plot
The game follows protagonist Regina, a returning character from the first game in the series. Regina is sent on another mission, to investigate the accident that caused the whole of Edward City, a town devoted to Third Energy research, to have become replaced by a prehistoric jungle. Regina must search and rescue any remaining survivors, as well as recover missing research data, that will help to unearth the reasons behind this strange anomaly.
Tagging along is a large strike force team called TRAT (Tactical Reconnoitering and Acquisition Team). Dylan, the lead character, is a member of the team.
Extra Crisis
Dino Crisis 2 came with two bonus modes that would be unlocked upon completion of the main game which were made available on the main menu. Under the extra Crisis Menu there are two mode's. Dino Colosseum was a survival based mode where you would select from a number of characters (more being made available through multiple completions of the main game). The twist was that besides your standard humanoid characters, a tank was also available to choose aswell as a large number of the dinosaurs found from the main game. The goal was to simply fight your way through a number of stages until facing against a T-Rex at the very end. Dino Duel is the second mode in which you select from the same possible dinosaurs as featured in the Dino Colliseum and go head to head with another selected dinosaur. Dino Duel was multiplayer upto 2 players however Dino Colliseum was strictly single player.
