@Deusx: I can't tell if the misspelling of "Deus Ex" in both your posts and your username is intentional or not.It is intentional. I started using it that way because that is my username for everything since I am 15 years old and every "Deus ex Machina" was taken so I use DeusxMachina. You guys are really nitpicky with things that aren't even worth about talking.

Bethesda Reveals 'Dishonored,' a New Action Game from Arkane Studios
@fishless said:No. Are u?@Deusx said:No it is not a Joke. That game sounds like fucking Deusx... I know it is from the same creative directors but they seem to be following a trend now that they know Deusx is going to be awesome. ALSO... U MAD?It sounds great but... It sounds like Deusx Human Revolution so yeah not very original. That's a joke, right? Please say either yes or nothing. Please.

I will wait for gameplay. You can describe terrible games to sound awesome if you take enough time and effort.
Man that concept sounds amazing. Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah are both great games as well, so this is definitely on my radar.
Really damn glad to hear this, when the Crossing failed; I was absolutely devestated, that game looked so very brilliant. Took too many risks for any producers to pick up at the time, I hear. A german game magazine made a special on the topic. The game, at the time, was apparently combining single-player with multiplayer. Where one player (playing the single-player campaign) had his certain objectives to complete, and all the normally AI controlled units were made up of other players.
The interesting thing about this was that there were two factions at play who were fighting against each other, with the player trying to sneak his way through, using mirror-edge like traversal.
.. Man, that looked great. Seems to me Arcane Studios are holding up their end of the deal. Much unlike what a lot of people think, these guys have been responsible for some great parts of other well-known games. They designed the water and much of the levels in Bioshock if I remember correctly.
Dishonored? More like DISINTEREST!
No, seriously, this game sounds pretty cool. Then again, Bethesda DOES have a penchant for exaggerating, so we'll see how it turns out. But my first impression is definitely positive.
I want to see if this game can do something like that in a good way.
It's a game about music where you don't need to keep a beat. It's a game about puzzles where you can hit stuff with a stick without letting one synapse ever fire. It's a game about cooking where you can order out for pizza. It's a game about World War II but it's in space and there aren't any Nazis or Japanese people. It's a game about massively multiplayer gaming where you never know anybody else is there. It's a game about Tron except it's interesting and good. It's a game about world conquest where you can just plant and harvest radishes. It's a game about Sudoku except you use machine guns and there are bears.
I could do this forever.
So do you think Bethesda pick clunky games to publish or that they somehow 'cluck them up' in the development process ?Considering the clunkiness of Bethesda published games, I can't say I'm all that interested in this.
The pedigree is there, here's hoping we get an awesome game. The concept art of City 17 is more often than not more amazing than what actually made it into the game so I hope with game tech having moved on a bit (a lot) since HL2, Viktor's work is translated more thoroughly into the game world.
Arkane was working on that "Crossplayer" game, The Crossing, before right? The one which was both single player AND multiplayer all the time? That one sounded intriguing as hell, and I'll for new IP. Especially from the developers of Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. Bring it on Bethesda. You guys are a cool publisher; you just seem to get behind new games at random, and I dig that. Sure, occasionally you drop ...disappointments like Hunted: The Demon's Forge. But occasionally you guys also bring us games like WET and Brink, so you guys are A-OK in my book! Also you keep bringing us Fallout, Elder Scrolls and id games now, so you've got guaranteed money-makers and you know it.
Way to be the anti-Activision of the industry, and not annualize your money makers in lieu of bringing us new IP.
"Well then. That sounds rather awesome, doesn't it?"
That was my exact reaction to reading that description, but afterwards I read it again and pooped
Wow these are three of my favorite game designers of all time. Working together on a game worthy of their Looking Glass legacy for the first time in over a decade? Please someone I think I died and went to game heaven. I hope with all my no longer beating heart that this game is every bit as good as it sounds from this article. Talk about closing out this generation right.
@Inkerman said:Every Bethesda developed game has had a certain level of clunkiness, as did Wet, and that cold war shooter was horrid.I'm interested, but at the same time, wary, we don't want another Deus Ex combined with Bethesda's somewhat clunky-ness to their games (And I say this as a massive fan of Bethesda). Having said that, I really wanna see the world of this game. How does being published by Bethesda automatically make your game clunky?
People, don't you recall that these are the same people who made Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, as well as Arx Fatalis? It's not like their track record is amazing, and both of those games sounded awesome before they came out.
"Additionally, Viktor Antonov, the artist who designed the imposing world of City 17 in Half-Life 2, will be lending his artistic talents to Dishonored's game world."
So that's why there are Combine and Striders in that images.... okay.
