Great addictive fun
This is the first Disney Infinity game I purchased, and I bought it with hesitation. I really thought this would be a game for kids only, and I would get bored with it real fast. Let me tell you, I couldn't be more wrong.
The gameplay itself is pretty simple, similar to a Lego style game, but that doesn't mean it has to be easy. Sure, if you keep the difficulty on the default setting, it can be pretty easy; but crank it up and this is not an easy game. I played the marvel playset on hard and had a great time. I think it took about 4 hours to complete the entire playset, which isn't too long, but the game is not meant to stop there. There are several other playsets you can buy now, with lots more to come.
When you play the playsets you collect items called sparks for killing enemies or even completing missions. These sparks are used to buy additional toys in the toy box mode...this is where the fun begins. I don't remember the last time I was so addicted to building random things. All day I think about what type of game I should make and when I get home, i create it and submit it so others can play it.
So the creation part can be as simple as putting blocks in place, or as difficult as create intelligent logic gates and linking playesets together to create a large world. I'm 33 and after 2 months of playing almost daily, I now feel pretty comfortable with my knowledge in the toy box. I think most kids would have a difficult time creating games with some of the logic toys, but this is a great opportunity for adults to play with kids and help them learn.
Like I said before, I became very addicted to the collection part of this as now I own over 30 figures, and have unlocked about 90% of the toys in the toybox. Seriously, if you can look past the child-like exterior, this is a heck of a game with tons of replay ability.
