The Divekick hats for the tournament have arrived. With this hat you can easily win your local Dave Lang cosplay contest and the riches and fame the victory will bring with it.
But in order to win, you must place in the top three of the tournament, only then shall I send you one of these "one of a kind" hats.
@fluxwavez: Yes, we will
@fluxwavez: Just want to clarify, the times listed are PST not PDT right? UTC -8?

They're whatever the current time is. Daylight savings won't be ending before the tournament begins so I didn't bother listing PDT instead of PST.
I wanted to be clear about the way this is worded; is each match best of 5 rounds? Or is it actually the first person to win 5 rounds?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, its just hard to know when we don't have the game in our hands yet.

The way Divekick has always been played at tournaments and during Iron Galaxy's streams is that the first player who wins 5 rounds is the winner of that match, so that's how this tournament will function as well.
Just curious was there a cutoff or has the entrants list just not been updated in a bit? If I was missed my PSN ID is verdadthat
The Quick Look is up; drop whatever you're doing and go watch while you wait for Tuesday: http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/quick-look-divekick/2300-7824/

I watched it and then Dave Lang sent me a code I won during the Evo stream :D Excellent timing really
I don't think I'm going to be able to do this anymore. I have to work Friday and Saturday in the evening. If only I had a Vita.
Ok I'm not on the list and I may have game the wrong PSN id last time, I am davidwitten22 and I want to play. P4A tourney was legendary.

You are, actually.
But yeah, you gave the wrong ID.
What's the policy on scheduling conflicts if say a player (like myself) is signed up for both tournaments? How long would it be reasonable to wait or expect someone to wait for you? I'm assuming that for no-shows they will be relegated as losers automatically and eliminated if no shows a second time. Can there be agreed changes in fight times between players if it's near the end of the tournament?
@bacongames: If near the end of the tournament, players need to organize a match for a time past the times I've specified, then I might let it if it doesn't hold things back, but other than that anyone who doesn't play their matches before the deadline and doesn't contact me about it will immediately incur a loss.

Ooh, those are deadlines. For some reason that didn't come across until now. Alright, that makes more sense. So by that logic then players can begin their matches as soon as the deadline for the last section ends correct?

Players can play their matches whenever they want to and they are encouraged to do so as soon as they can. I don't care about whatever time they play at except for if it's past the deadline for their round.
Looking at the times. I have a question. On Friday I work from 4 to 8pm PDT. What if we can't get the scheduling worked out right?
You'd have to contact me, but if you don't complete a match by a deadline you'll most likely be disqualified. If you would be the only one to contact me and your opponent wouldn't then you'd simply incur a loss while the opponent would be disqualified. If both players contacted me there's a good chance I'd accept that the match would be played past the deadline, but that's only if it wouldn't hold things back significantly.
So I just played a bunch of DiveKick online and now i'm super nervous for this tourney. I played 10 matches with IronGalaxyOnline (but I don't really know who was playing) and lost a whopping 7 of them. To be fair we were swapping out different characters each time and who ever it was, was crazy good with Stream. I then got in a further 30 (I think) rounds with someone else which was a lot more even. I was getting bodied playing as Jefailey vs Scholl's though. He's just way slow to really do anything against her but surprisingly solid against Kung Pao.
I was really excited for this but I have to bow out, too many things like work and family going to make this weekend busy. Thanks and sorry.
